摘要: The present invention relates to a fuel cell including: a membrane electrode assembly (2) having a fuel electrode (13), an air electrode (16), and an electrolyte membrane (17) sandwiched therebetween; and a fuel storage unit (4) storing a liquid fuel. The fuel cell is capable of continuously generating electricity for long hours only by being replenished with a fuel, and therefore, attempts have been made to miniaturize the fuel cell to use it as a power source of portable electronic devices. When the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel storage unit in the fuel cell are connected via a flow path, a fuel supply state becomes uneven depending on the shape and the like of the flow path even though a supply amount of the fuel can be adjusted, which causes a problem such as a decrease in an output of the fuel cell. The present invention solves the aforethe problem by providing, in the fuel cell, a fuel distributing mechanism (3) which supplies the fuel to a plurality of places of the fuel electrode, and connecting the fuel distributing mechanism and the fuel storage unit via the flow path (5).

摘要: The present invention relates to a fuel cell including: a membrane electrode assembly (2) having a fuel electrode (13), an air electrode (16), and an electrolyte membrane (17) sandwiched therebetween; and a fuel storage unit (4) storing a liquid fuel. The fuel cell is capable of continuously generating electricity for long hours only by being replenished with a fuel, and therefore, attempts have been made to miniaturize the fuel cell to use it as a power source of portable electronic devices. When the membrane electrode assembly and the fuel storage unit in the fuel cell are connected via a flow path, a fuel supply state becomes uneven depending on the shape and the like of the flow path even though a supply amount of the fuel can be adjusted, which causes a problem such as a decrease in an output of the fuel cell. The present invention solves the aforethe problem by providing, in the fuel cell, a fuel distributing mechanism (3) which supplies the fuel to a plurality of places of the fuel electrode, and connecting the fuel distributing mechanism and the fuel storage unit via the flow path (5).

摘要: According to one embodiment, a fuel cell includes a membrane electrode assembly including a plurality of anodes, a plurality of cathodes each forming a pair with a corresponding one of the plurality of anodes, and an electrolyte membrane interposed between the anodes and the cathodes, a current collector configured to interpose the membrane electrode assembly in between, a fuel supply mechanism arranged on the side of the anodes of the membrane electrode assembly and configured to supply the anodes with a fuel, and a moisturizing layer arranged on the side of the cathodes of the membrane electrode assembly. The current collector includes a slit arranged so as to face a region between the cathodes.

摘要: In an electronic device, state detection elements are arranged at various locations of a fuel cell system supplies an electric power to a phone unit, the state detection elements detect states of the fuel cell system at the locations. A cell state detection unit detects an operating state of the fuel cell from an output signal of each of the state detection elements. A determination unit determines an operating mode to prompt action to be taken for the operating state of the fuel cell detected by the cell state detection unit. A content of the operating mode is displayed with an image of a character or a fictitious creature based on a determination by the determination unit.

摘要: A fuel cell includes a cathode catalyst layer, an anode catalyst layer, a proton-conductive membrane provided between the cathode catalyst layer and the anode catalyst layer, and a fuel transmitting layer that supplies a vaporized component of a liquid fuel to the anode catalyst layer. Water generated in the cathode catalyst layer is supplied to the anode catalyst layer via the proton-conductive membrane. The liquid fuel is one of a methanol aqueous solution having a concentration of over 50% by molar and liquid methanol.

摘要: An electrode membrane structure includes a solid electrolyte membrane of a polymer material, and a fuel electrode and an air electrode stacked on both sides of the solid electrolyte membrane. The fuel electrode is formed of an anode catalyst layer and a fuel electrode collector, and the air electrode is formed of a cathode catalyst layer and an air electrode collector. At the backside of the fuel electrode collector, a fuel tank is defined between a casing and a fuel holding film. The interior of the fuel tank is divided into a plurality of divisions by a partition to uniformly distribute liquid fuel to the fuel electrode. The liquid fuel (methanol) in the fuel tank is absorbed and held by the fuel holding film, is dispersed through the fuel holding film to the fuel electrode.

摘要: The present invention provides a fuel cell comprising: a cathode catalyst layer 2; an anode catalyst layer 3; a proton conductive membrane 6 disposed between the cathode catalyst layer 2 and the anode catalyst layer 3; a liquid fuel tank 9 for storing a liquid fuel L; a fuel vaporizing layer 10 for supplying a vaporized component of the liquid fuel to the anode catalyst layer 3; and a vaporized fuel chamber 12 formed between the fuel vaporizing layer 10 and the anode catalyst layer 3; wherein the vaporized fuel chamber 12 is provided with an internal pressure releasing mechanism 20 for discharging a generated gas including carbon dioxide gas, that is generated anode catalyst layer 3, from a side wall of the vaporized fuel chamber 12 to outside a cell body.
