摘要: In a vehicle pop-up hood apparatus in which a rod is extended and a hood is pushed up by the operation of an actuator at a time of collision with a collision body, collision energy is absorbed with high efficiency when a collision load of a predetermined value or greater is input to an area near a hood pushed up position.Actuator (18) operates such that rod (20) moves in an axial direction toward a hood upper side, pushes up a rear edge side of hood rocker (12) and holds it at that position and, in that state, when a collision load of a predetermined value or greater acts from a hood upper side to near the pushed up position of the hood, push portion (54) slides along pushed up surface (38) of hinge arm (30) towards a vehicle rear side, and rod (20) is made to bend in conjunction therewith.

摘要: In a configuration in which a rod is extended by an actuator and raises a hood at a time of a collision with a collision body, when a collision load greater than a predetermined value is input to near a hood pushed up area, the collision energy is efficiently absorbed.In a state in which a hood (12) is maintained in a pushed up position, when a collision load equal to or greater than a predetermined value is input from a hood upper side, a distal end portion (54) of a rod (20) slides towards a vehicle rear side along a pushed up surface (38) of a hood rear portion, while deforming the rod (20) by bending, thereby absorbing collision energy. At this time, before a base of a hinge arm (30) contacts a cowl top side (22), distal end portion (54) of rod (20) catches against a bending portion (60) such that rod (20) is bent further. As a result, when distal end portion (54) catches against bending portion (60), an intermediate reactive force is generated and a base contact load at a final stage of energy absorption can be decreased.

摘要: A pedestrian protection system is mounted in the front portion of a vehicle, and includes a controller, a forward movement holding mechanism controlled in actuation by the controller, and a contact body that a pedestrian can contact. The controller, when having predicted a collision of a pedestrian with the vehicle based on a signal from a collision predicting sensor, actuates the forward movement holding mechanism to cause a forward movement of the contact body, and based on a signal from a turn sensor when the forward movement holding mechanism carries out an upward rotation or a downward rotation at the time of contact of the forwardly moved contact body with a pedestrian, controls actuation of the restraint body so as to correspond to a pedestrian moving to a front upper side of the vehicle and a pedestrian moving to a front lower side of the vehicle, respectively.

摘要: When activated, an actuator causes a piston rod in a cylinder to move forwards so as to support a receiving member for receiving an object to be protected. A lock mechanism for restricting a backward movement of the piston rod includes a lock ring which is accommodated in an accommodating groove on a piston portion and a locking stepped portion on the cylinder side. The locking stepped portion includes a locking and restricting surface and an outer circumferential restricting surface. A taper restricting surface in the accommodating groove on the piston portion is brought into abutment with an inner surface on a forward moving side of the lock ring which is being diametrically expanded as a result of the piston rod having moved forwards and is in abutment with the locking and restricting surface and the outer circumferential restricting surface of the locking stepped portion, whereby the backward movement of the piston rod is restricted by making use of the lock ring which is restricted in the locking stepped portion.

摘要: An actuator includes a cylinder, a piston rod which moves forwards within the cylinder and a lock mechanism for restricting a backward movement of the piston rod that has moved forwards. The piston rod includes a piston portion and a support rod portion which is made to extend from the piston portion. The lock mechanism includes an annular elastic element which is disposed with an inner circumferential edge made to project further radially inwards than an inner circumferential surface of the cylinder and a groove which is disposed so as to extend along an outer circumferential surface of the piston portion for the annular elastic element to be fitted therein. The support rod portion includes a rod main body portion whose diameter is made smaller than an inside diameter of the annular elastic element and a tapered portion which is disposed on a piston portion side end portion of the support rod portion and which has a taper surface which is gradually expanded diametrically towards the piston portion until an outside diametrical dimension of the piston portion is reached.
