摘要： An electronic file corresponding to a scanned original image is specified on the basis of the original image. If the electronic file corresponding to the original image cannot be specified, the original image is converted into vector data. The vector data is converted into image data. The first image data of the original image is compared with the second image data generated by the second conversion unit. On the basis of the comparison result, the first image data or vector data is selected as the electronic file corresponding to the original image.

摘要： This invention provides an image processing system and image processing method which can promote efficient use of a memory by vectorizing all data of a representative object and, for the same or similar object, referring to the vectorized representative object and using difference data and also convert the same or similar objects at once by editing only the representative object. Input image information is vectorized. The vector data of a representative object is stored. Identity between a target object and the representative object is determined. If the two objects are identical, property information containing information about the reference destination of the vector data of the representative object is stored in place of the vector data of the target object.

Vector data is generated from image information input by a scanner. Keyword information to inhibit reuse, which is contained in the image information, is input. The similarity between the input vector data and the keyword information is determined. Only when it is determined that the vector data is similar to the keyword information, the generated vector data is stored in a storage device.

摘要： There are provided an image processing system and image processing method which can appropriately set whether to convert an original paper document into re-usable vector data before obtaining vector data from the paper document. An image scanning unit (110) scans a document to obtain image information, and a storage device (111) stores the image information. A data processing device (115) detects control information appended to the document from the image information and determines whether vectorization of the image information is permitted or inhibited. If the data processing device (115) determines that vectorization is permitted, it converts the image information into vector data; otherwise, it directly stores the image information in the storage device (111).
