    摘要: A light source device (40) attached to an optical equipment provided with a light-source cooling fan (3) has a light source (401), a reflector (402), a light-transmissive component (51) that closes the light-irradiation side of the reflector (402) and a light source housing (50) that houses the above components. An opening (402A) for introducing a cooling air is formed on the reflector (402) and an opening (52) is formed on the light source housing (50) at a position corresponding to the light source housing (50). A duct (53) of which light-irradiation side is opened is provided on the opening (52). When the light source device (40) is attached to the optical equipment, the duct (53) protrudes toward the light-irradiation side to be connected with the fan (3). The opening (52) is opened in accordance therewith, so that the air from the fan (3) is introduced into the reflector (402).

    摘要: The present invention provides a technology for mounting a prism which is used for a projector, such as a crossed dichroic prism, accurately in a predetermined position of a base frame. A projector for displaying color images can include an illumination optical system, a colored-light-separating optical system for separating light emitted from the illumination optical system into first, second, and third colored light which are three color components, first, second, and third electro-optical devices which modulate the first, second, and third colored light, respectively, according to image data, and produce first, second, and third modulated light, respectively. The projector can further include a colored-light-combining optical system for combining the first, second, and third modulated light, a projection optical system for projecting the combined light emitted from the colored-light-combining optical system, and a base frame for mounting a plurality of optical parts which are disposed in a light path between the illumination optical system and the projection optical system. The colored-light-combining optical system can be a crossed dichroic prism bonded directly to the base frame.

The projector comprises: an illumination optical system for emitting light; an electro-optical device for modulating the light emitted from the illumination optical system in response to image information; a projection optical system for projecting a modulated light generated by the electro-optical device; and an optical component having a rock crystal member composed of rock crystal, the optical component being located in an optical path including the illumination optical system and the projection optical system. For example, the optical component provided on a light incident side or a light exiting side of the electro-optical device has a rock crystal substrate 308G as the rock crystal member and a polarizing plate 302Go arranged on the substrate. It is preferable that a Z axis of the rock crystal substrate 308G is set to be substantially parallel to or substantially perpendicular to the surface of the substrate.

In the illuminating device, the lens member is arranged such that a normal line of the planar optical surface is slightly inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to an optical axis of the lamp device. The lens member is arranged such that light beams substantially parallel to the optical axis are incident on the planar optical surface, and a filter that reflects at least one of an ultraviolet ray and an infrared ray is provided on the planar optical surface.

    摘要: A projector of the type which uses an optical modulator that modulates light by controlling the emitting direction of light applied to a light illumination surface in accordance with image information is provided with a reduction in size. In the projector a prism has a selective reflection/transmission surface which reflects illumination light emitted from an illumination optical system and impinging thereupon, and causes the illumination light to impinge upon the light illumination surface of an optical modulator at a predetermined angle. The prism allows the modulated light emitted from the optical modulator to be transmitted therethrough and emits the light to the projection optical system. The selective reflection/transmission surface is formed such that when the optical path of the illumination light is projected onto a plane parallel to the light illumination surface, the inclination of the central axis of the illumination light emitted from the illumination optical system and impinging upon the selective reflection/transmission surface is different from the inclination of the central axis of the illumination light reflected by the selective reflection/transmission surface and impinging upon the light illumination surface.
