    摘要: A grid apparatus which has a multiplicity of ribbon-shaped grid elements stretched in tension and attached to a frame which comprises a pair of support bars and a pair of resilient support members. Metallic members which have a larger thermal expansion coefficient than the resilient support members are connected to the reverse surfaces of the resilient support members opposite the side to which the grid-elements are attached. In the grid apparatus during heat treatment, thermal creep of the grid elements is prevented so that the tension of the grid elements will remain high when the normal temperature state is resumed. A method of making such grid apparatus includes an additional heat treatment such as a blackening process after the reduction of the tension applied to the grid elements by the resilient support members and the support bars, hence preventing thermal creep of the grid elements to produce a high-reliability with high tension of the grid elements.

    摘要: A grid apparatus for use with a color cathode ray tube is described, having a pair of opposing frame members, and a pair of arm portions respectively welded at free ends thereof to the pair of opposing frame members for mechanically connecting the pair of opposing frame members, and for stretching the grid elements with a predetermined tension in cooperation with the pair of opposing frame members, in which each of the pair of arm portions is curved generally as a U-shape in substantially one plane. Both ends of the arm portions are respectively connected to the pair of opposing frame members at positions outside from their Bessel points, and the plane in which each of the pair of arm portions is arranged to respectively widened rearward with an angle from 45.degree. to 65.degree. with respect to a surface perpendicular to an axis of the grid apparatus.

    摘要: A color cathode ray tube in which an aperture grill is provided having a large number of slits extended in the extending direction of fluorescent stripes bored through the grill in parallel. The slits are provided in an opposing relation to a color fluorescent screen in which the fluorescent stripes of respective colors are arranged in a predetermined order in parallel. The aperture grill is composed of a thin plate having the slits. This a frame on which the thin plate is extended with a predetermined tension in the extending direction of the slits and this thin plate is formed of a high purity iron thin plate having a thickness of equal to or less than 0.05 mm. Since the thickness of the thin plate is selected as described above, controllability of the width of the slit in the manufacturing process can be improved. Therefore, the accuracy of the aperture grill can be increased, the productivity thereof can be increased, the weight thereof can be reduced, and further, the color cathode ray tube can be formed as a high definition color cathode ray tube.

A correction current based on an output of a terrestrial magnetism sensor (45) is supplied to a Z-axis correction coil (41) and an X--X axis correction coil (42). A terrestrial magnetism component (B.sub.H cos.theta.) of Z-axis direction is canceled by a correction magnetic flux generated by the Z-axis correction coil (41), and a terrestrial magnetism component (B.sub.H sin.theta.) of X-axis direction is canceled by the X--X axis correction coil (42), whereby a beam landing drift and a image distortion drift are corrected automatically.

A frame (1) is constituted by a pair of opposite long-side frames (3) and a pair of opposite short-side frames (4). A color selecting electrode (2) is stretched over the upper surfaces (3b) of the long-side frames (3). The frame (1) is formed by the integral molding. The end portions of the upper surfaces (3b) side of the long-side frames (3) are formed into a straight line as if they were cut down. The lower surfaces of connection portions between the long-side frames (3) and the short-side frames (4) are disposed on the same plane. The height of the long-side frames (3) from this plane is formed so as to be higher than the height of the short-side frames (4).

The method comprises the steps of arranging a damper wire of predetermined length between a pair of fixing members, covering each end of the damper wire arranged on each end of the pair of fixing members with a pair of thin film tapes, respectively, welding both of the damper wire and the thin film tapes thereon to each one end of the pair of fixing members to provide a damper assembly, arranging a wire portion of the damper assembly over a surface of the plurality of the grid elements, and fixing each of the other end of the pair of fixing members to each of the pair of supporting members so as to suppress mechanical vibration of the grid elements.
