Abstract: A method of installing a roof system, the method comprising (i) providing a first membrane composite including a polymeric planar body having first and second planar surfaces, a UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the second planar surface, a release member removably secured to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer opposite the planar body; and a primer layer disposed along a lap area on the first planar surface; (ii) adhesively securing the first membrane composite to a roof surface through the UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer; (iii) providing a second membrane composite including a polymeric planar body having first and second planar surfaces, a UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the second planar surface, a release member removably secured to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer opposite the planar body; and optionally including a primer layer disposed along a lap area on the first planar surface; (iv) adhesively securing the second membrane composite to the roof surface through the UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer, where the second membrane composite is positioned adjacent to and partially overlapping the lap area of the first membrane composite; and (v) adhesively securing the second membrane composite to the first planar surface of the first membrane composite along the primer layer through the UV-cured pressure-sensitive adhesive layer disposed on the second membrane composite.

Abstract: A method for making a cured rubber sheet, the method comprising providing an uncured rubber sheet, where the uncured rubber sheet includes opposing planar surfaces; applying a curable coating composition to at least one planar surface of the uncured rubber sheet to form at least one layer of curable coating composition, where the curable coating composition includes a polymer with a silicon-containing hydrolyzable terminal group polymer; subjecting the curable coating composition to curing conditions that cure the coating composition and thereby form at least one cured coating layer on the uncured rubber sheet, wherein the at least one cured coating layer includes a cured residue of the polymer with a silicon-containing hydrolyzable terminal group polymer; rolling the uncured rubber sheet having at least one cured coating layer onto itself to form a roll; and subjecting the roll to curing conditions that cure the uncured rubber sheet and thereby forms a roll of cured rubber sheet.

Abstract: A method of installing a roof system, the method comprising (i) providing a first membrane panel including a polymeric planar body having a top planar surface and a bottom planar surface; (ii) securing the first membrane panel to a roof substrate; (iii) providing a second membrane panel including a polymeric planar body having a top planar surface and a bottom planar surface; (iv) positioning the second membrane panel adjacent to the first membrane panel so that the second membrane panel overlaps the first membrane panel in a lap region; (v) applying a primer composition to the top planar surface of the first membrane panel in the lap region to form a first primed surface; (vi) optionally applying a primer composition to the bottom planar surface of the second membrane panel in the lap region to form a second primed surface; (vii) applying an adhesive to at least one of the first primed surface or the second primed surface; and (viii) seaming the first membrane panel to the second membrane panel with the adhesive, where the primer composition applied to the first membrane panel and the primer composition optionally applied to the second membrane panel includes a silyl-terminated polymer.
