摘要: Provided is a general purpose engine that has a small external appearance and can be placed in a stable posture even when inverted, and whereby labels attached to the upper surface thereof can be protected. The general purpose engine 1 comprises a shroud 4 covering an engine main body. The shroud 4 includes: a top cover 2 arranged in an upper section of the general purpose engine 1; and a bottom cover 3 arranged in a lower section of the general purpose engine 1. The top cover 2 has a pair of bridges 20, 20 formed so as to protrude from the upper surface of the top cover 2, constituting the apex of the top cover 2 and continually extending from the front surface of the top cover 2 to the rear surface thereof, across the upper surface.

摘要: An engine equipped with a secondary air supply device where a cylinder extends obliquely to define a space therebeneath, which includes: a cooling fan disposed laterally of the cylinder; a carburetor disposed closer to the space than the cooling fan; an exhaust muffler disposed opposite from the carburetor with the cylinder interposed therebetween and in communication with a cylinder head via an exhaust pipe; a secondary air introduction pipe connected to the exhaust pipe and extending from the exhaust pipe to the space so that its inlet end portion is located in the space; an intake nozzle provided in communication with the inlet end portion of the introduction pipe and having an opening portion that opens in an opposite direction from the cooling fan; and a partition wall disposed between the opening portion of the intake nozzle and the carburetor.

摘要: Provided is a general purpose engine having a sufficient cooling function. The general purpose engine 1 comprises: an engine main body 10 having a canister muffler 132 on the side thereof; a cooling mechanism 9 that cools the engine main body 10; and a shroud 4 covering the engine main body 10 and the cooling mechanism 9. The cooling mechanism 9 comprises: a cooling fan 90 that generates cooling air by rotating; and a blowing unit 92 that blows cooling air generated by the rotation of the cooling fan 90, towards the upper section of the engine main body 10. A space S in which the cooling air blown from the blowing unit 92 towards the upper section of the engine main body 10 can flow vertically downwards is formed between the shroud 4 and the canister muffler 132. A return section 40 that guides the cooling air towards a stud bolt 132a that fixes the canister muffler 132 to the engine main body 10 is formed on an inside wall surface of the shroud 4 forming the space S.

摘要: Provided is an opening/closing mechanism for an intake member which enables backlash suppression a working member and positioning of a choke lever. The opening/closing mechanism includes the intake member that accommodates a filter part and has an opening leading to a carburetor at an end wall portion facing the filter part; an opening/closing member that is disposed between the filter part and the end wall portion, and opens and closes the opening; and a working member that is disposed on a side opposite to the opening/closing member with the end wall portion interposed therebetween. The working member includes an arm portion that extends along the end wall portion and is coupled with the opening/closing member at one end by sandwiching the end wall portion therebetween, and a holding portion that is provided at the other end of the arm portion, the intake member has a guide hole into which the arm portion is inserted to guide movement of the arm portion, the guide hole has a first fixing portion that fixes the arm portion on one side in a movement direction of the arm portion, and a second fixing portion that fixes the arm portion on the other side in the movement direction of the arm portion, and widths of the first fixing portion and the second fixing portion of the guide hole are respectively equal to or less than a width of the arm portion.

摘要: An opening/closing mechanism of an intake member includes: an intake member that accommodates a filter part and has an opening leading to a carburetor in an end wall opposing the filter part; an opening/closing member disposed between the filter part and the end wall, and opens/closes the opening; and a working member disposed on an opposite side to the opening/closing member so as to interpose the end wall, and allows the opening/closing member to be operated. 摘要: An internal combustion engine (1) having a cylinder (5) having a rearwardly slanted axial line is provided with a plurality of cylindrical cyclone dust collection units (34) commonly connected to an upstream end of a filter dust collection unit (35). Each cyclone dust collection unit includes a main body (44, 45) internally defining a separation chamber (45C), and having an air inlet (31) communicating with outside and an air outlet (73) communicating with the filter dust collection unit, and the separation chamber is provided with a dust ejection hole (45D) directed tangentially in an obliquely forward direction. Thereby, dust ejected from the dust ejection hole is ejected away from the operator of the engine, and is prevented from depositing on the engine.
