摘要： A liquid crystal display including a first substrate, a second substrate, and liquid crystal molecules disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a first base substrate and a common electrode disposed on the first base substrate. The second substrate includes a second base substrate facing the first base substrate and a first pixel electrode disposed on the second base substrate. The first pixel electrode includes a first area and a second area which form different electric fields in cooperation with the common electrode. Accordingly, the liquid crystal display enhances an aperture ratio and increases a side viewing angle.

The display device includes a first base substrate, a first alignment layer disposed on the first base substrate, a second base substrate, a second alignment layer disposed on the second base substrate, the second alignment layer facing the first alignment layer, a liquid crystal layer disposed between the first alignment layer and the second alignment layer, the liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules, electrodes applying an electric field into the liquid crystal layer. At least one of the first and second alignment layers includes a main alignment layer, a polar side chain connected to the main alignment layer, the polar side chain causing an electrical interaction with the liquid crystal molecules according to the apply of the electrical field, and a non-polar side chain connected to the main alignment layer, the non-polar side chain configured to vertically align the liquid crystal molecules.

摘要： A display apparatus includes a gate line, a first data line which receives a first data signal, a second data line which receives a second data signal having a gray scale lower than a gray scale of the first data signal and a polarity opposite to the first data signal, a short gate line which receives a short gate signal, and a plurality of pixels, each pixel including a first sub-pixel which displays a first image corresponding to the first data signal, a second sub-pixel which displays a second image corresponding to the second data signal, and a switching device which electrically connects the first sub-pixel and the second sub-pixel in response to the short gate signal. A pixel alternately displays a display image and a black image in a unit of at least one frame.

摘要： A display apparatus includes a shutter panel and a display panel that alternately displays a left-eye image and a right-eye image in a 3D mode. The shutter panel includes dual-frequency liquid crystals in which a polarity of dielectric constant anisotropy is changed according to a frequency of the driving voltage to selectively delay a phase of the left-eye image or the right-eye image, which pass through the dual-frequency liquid crystals. The dual-frequency liquid crystals have a fast response speed to the low voltage, and thus a cross-talk phenomenon between the left-eye image and the right-eye image may be prevented.
