Abstract: A service authorization method and a communications apparatus to resolve a problem that, in a scenario in which a second server is discovered by a client, a first server fails to obtain service authorization to access the second server, so as to reduce a security risk of a service-based network. The method includes: applying, by the client on behalf of the first server, for an access token for the first server to access the second server, and notifying the access token to the first server. Alternatively, the first server applies for the access token based on an instance identifier or a resource identifier of the second server that is provided by the client.
