Abstract: This application discloses a network slice information transmission method and apparatus. For example, a controller performs slice division on a network based on a service requirement and then obtains slice information, and sends the slice information to a first network device in the network by using a path computation element protocol (PCEP) packet, which includes first slice information corresponding to the first network device. After receiving the PCEP packet, the first network device parses the PCEP packet to obtain the first slice information, and further performs network slice configuration based on the first slice information. That is, in this application, the controller delivers the slice information by using the PCEP packet, so that after obtaining the PCEP packet, the first network device can obtain the first slice information corresponding to the first network device in a timely manner and perform network slice configuration without waiting for a configuration command.

Abstract: A multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) node sends an output packet including control information and payload data. The MPLS node is configured to: receive an input packet including the payload data, from a first pseudo-wire segment; modify an encapsulation format of the payload data of the input packet to generate the output packet; and send the output packet to a second pseudo-wire segment. The MPLS node can also be configured to support the opposite operating direction, that is an MPLS, node may be configured to receive an input packet including the payload data from a second pseudo-wire segment; modify an encapsulation format of the payload data of the input packet to generate an output packet; and send the output packet to a first pseudo-wire segment.

Abstract: An embodiment of a Network Virtualization Edge (NVE) device for transmitting packets receives a packet including a source address and a destination address. The NVE device obtains an active-active access configuration information list including a first entry and a second entry, where the first entry includes an identifier of a first active-active group, a Virtual Network Instance (VNI), and an identifier of the NVE device, and the second entry includes an identifier of a second active-active group, a VNI, and identifiers of at least two NVE devices that belong to the second active-active group. The NVE device obtains the VNI according to the identifier of the NVE device, searches for one active-active group corresponding to the VNI, selects a second NVE device from the at least two NVE devices; and encapsulates the packet using an identifier of the second NVE device and the VNI, and sends the packet.

Abstract: This disclosure provides examples of a packet processing method, apparatus, and system. An example method includes: a first network device receives a first packet, determines a second packet based on the first packet and a first segment identifier SID, and forwards the second packet based on a label forwarding path. The second packet is an IPv6 packet, and includes a data packet and the first SID. The first SID includes a first prefix and at least one MPLS label. The first prefix indicates that the first SID carries the at least one MPLS label, and the at least one MPLS label indicates to use a label forwarding path determined by using the at least one MPLS label to implement IPv6 forwarding. According to the technical solution provided in this application, MPLS forwarding can be implemented on an IPv6 path.

Abstract: An SFC-based communications method and system, and an apparatus are provided. The SFC includes a CF node, an SFF node, and an SF node, and the SFF node is connected to the SF node. Abstract: This application provides a forwarding path determining method and an apparatus. In determining a forwarding path, a second network device sends a routing update message to a first network device, where the routing update message carries a first identifier list, the first identifier list includes a binding segment identifier, and the first identifier list indicates a first forwarding path that is from the second network device to a third network device. By using the method, a second forwarding path from the first network device to the third network device is determined. According to the method provided in this application, when there is no controller or controllers cannot communicate with each other, routing advertisement of the binding end identifier is implemented, to determine a forwarding path. This helps simplify a packet forwarding control process.
