A network apparatus and a network virtualization support method. The network apparatus may include a software-based virtualization unit to generate a software-based virtualization slice in association with another network apparatus; a hardware-based virtualization unit to generate a hardware-based virtualization slice in association with another network apparatus; and a virtualization control unit to activate the software-based virtualization unit or the hardware-based virtualization unit based on the user information of the user who requests generation of the virtualization slice.

Provided is a method and apparatus for allocating a multicast connection identifier (MCID) for Internet protocol (IP) packet transmission over a portable Internet network and transmitting packets using the MCID. More specifically, there is provided a method of defining and allocating an MCID for transmitting an IP version 6 (IPv6) multicast packet over an IEEE 802.16/Wireless Broadband (WiBro) network and a process for transmitting an IP multicast packet of a base station (BS) using the MCID. The method of allocating is related to a method of automatically generating a connection identifier (CID) having 16 bits for packet transmission over the IEEE 802.16/WiBro network in order to transmit the IPv6 multicast packet. In this method, a scope value of the IPv6 multicast packet is added to the MCID. Therefore, multicast packets having an effective IPv6 scope such as a multicast packet in a link-local category, a multicast packet in a site-local category, and a multicast packet in a global category can be transmitted over the IEEE 802.16/WiBro network according to the scope of the multicast packet. Accordingly, when a new IPv6 scope is defined, the method can be naturally applied.

An apparatus for and method of supporting network-based mobility for a dual stack terminal are provided. More particularly, a mobile anchor point (MAP) apparatus for binding and data transmission of a dual stack terminal which has moved from a dual network to an Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4) network or an Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) network, and a method of implementing the MAP apparatus are provided. If the IPv6, which is a next-generation Internet protocol, begins to be applied to networks, a dual stack terminal supporting both the IPv4 and IPv6 will also be introduced. In an environment in which this dual stack terminal moves, movement of the dual stack terminal to an IPv4-only network or an IPv6-only network as well as movement between IPv4/IPv6 dual networks will be considered. According to the apparatus and method, a MAP used in a conventional network-based mobility supporting method is extended. Accordingly, when a dual stack terminal moves between different network-based localized mobility management domains, such as an IPv4-only network or an IPv6-only network, a binding management message is made to be exchanged between two MAPs of the networks, thereby establishing an IPv6-in-IPv4 tunnel or an IPv4-in-IPv6 tunnel between the two MAPs. In this way, even when the dual stack terminal moves to an IPv4-only network or an IPv6-only network, communication with an external terminal is enabled.

Provided is a mobile IPv6 fast handovers method, which includes the steps of: a) if a mobile node is moved in a layer 2, receiving a modified RS message from a mobile node in the access router, b) detecting movement of the mobile node in a layer 3 in the access router, c) if the mobile node makes a movement in the layer 3, generating CoA of the mobile node in the access router; d) performing Duplicate Address Detection in the access router to inspect uniqueness of the generated CoA; and e) transmitting a modified RA message to the mobile node in the access router. The Fast Handovers method of the present research performs fast movement detection by using layer 2 information simply and efficiently for fast handover in the mobile IPv6 and generates CoA in the access router instead of the mobile node without operations of many additional messages.

Provided are a virtualization-supporting programmable platform device and a method of transferring a packet. The method includes, when a switch receives a packet including a destination sliver identifier (ID) and a virtual interface (VIF) ID, transferring, at the switch, the received packet to a sliver selected on the basis of the destination sliver ID, and transferring, at the sliver receiving the packet, the received packet to one of VIFs of the sliver on the basis of the VIF ID. Accordingly, a programmable platform or router supporting network virtualization can identify IDs of slivers, which are resources allocated to users in the future Internet, and VIFs connected to the respective slivers.

A method and an apparatus for providing a service using an RFID tag identifier in an RFID system are provided. The method includes: identifying the RFID tag for providing the service; acquiring an object identifier and a unique item identifier from the RFID tag and determining whether or not each of the identifiers can be interpreted; and disregarding the RFID tag if either of the identifiers cannot be interpreted, and determining whether or not the service should be provided according to validity of the tag identifier of the RFID tag if both of the identifiers can be interpreted. In addition, directly after interpreting the unique item identifier stored in the RFID tag, instead of providing information searches or service, an operation of determining whether or not the tag identifier of the RFID tag is used or issued by an RFID system is performed using the tag identifier stored in the RFID tag. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent the RFID tag issued intentionally or by mistake and having the same object identifier and unique item identifier stored in the RFID tag from receiving erroneous operations or unsuitable service.
