The method includes mapping a signaling message generated in a Layer 3, a medium access control (MAC) message generated in a MAC sublayer and user data, to be transmitted over common channels to corresponding common logical channels; adding identifiers corresponding to common logical channels to the received signaling messages; processing the common logical channel identifier-added messages according to a common radio burst protocol using a single sequence number; and mapping the messages processed according to the common radio burst protocol to corresponding common channels.

摘要： A method for determining a gating rate in a base station for a CDMA communication system is disclosed. The method comprises transmitting information for assigning a dedicated control channel and a traffic channel to a mobile station, when a call is generated; after call setup, transmitting a message requesting mobile station's capability information to the mobile station; receiving the capability information including gating availability information of a reverse pilot signal and information about at least one gating rate, transmitted from the mobile station in reply to the request message; and determining a gating rate according to the capability information, transmitting information about the determined gating rate to the mobile station, and transitioning to an active sate. The mobile station's capability information includes information about gating availability and at least one gating rate, when gating is available.

The method comprising segmenting a data stream into at least one consecutive frame having a variable data length, the data stream being segmented into a plurality of consecutive blocks having a variable data length, each said consecutive block being segmented into a plurality of sub-consecutive blocks having a byte length; attaching, at each head of the consecutive frames, a header including a first set of bits indicating the sequence number of a consecutive block corresponding to the head and a second set of bits indicating the sequence number of a sub-consecutive block corresponding to the head; and transmitting the header-attached consecutive frames.

摘要： Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for retransmitting a failing RLP frame assigned with a new unique identifier agreed to between the transmitting and receiving RLP processors instead of the original sequence number. The receiving RLP processor requests the transmitting RLP processor to retransmit a failing RLP frame assigned with a new identifier determined by the receiving RLP processor. Responding to the request, the transmitting RLP processor retransmits the failing RLP frame assigned with the requested new identifier instead of the original sequence number.

摘要： There is provided a data transmitting method in a CDMA system. In the CDMA system, a control hold state and an active state are set for data transmission between a mobile station and a base station. The control hold state is entered to transmit a control signal on a dedicated control channel and the active state is divided into a low rate transmission substate for transmitting a small amount of data on the dedicated control channel or/and a fundamental channel and a high rate transmission substate for transmitting a large amount of data on a supplemental channel and on at least one of the dedicated control channel and the fundamental channel. When a large amount of user data is generated in the mobile station, the mobile station generates a supplemental channel request message including supplemental channel request information needed to transit from the control hold state to the high rate transmission substate without interposition of the low rate transmission substate and state transition information needed to transit from the control hold state to the active state, and transmits the supplemental channel request message to the base station.

摘要： A device for generating a block sequence number in a communication system for transmitting frames comprised of a block sequence number and a succeeding data field. The block sequence number is assigned to every block unit corresponding to a multiple of the byte to transmit the increased number of data bits, so that the data bits in at least one of the frames can be verified in byte unit at a receiving side. A difference D is calculated between a first byte sequence number A of m bits indicating a first byte of transmission data and a second byte sequence number B of m bits indicating data of the first byte in a second block succeeding a first block to which the transmission data belongs. The first byte sequence number A is converted to a block sequence number of n bits smaller in number than m bits using difference D.
