Abstract: For example, a wireless communication receiver may be configured to switch one or more RF components of the receiver between an on-state and an off-state based on at least one detection criterion for preamble detection of a frame preamble by a preamble detector of the receiver, switching the one or more RF components between the on-state and the off-state including switching the one or more RF components from the on-state to the off-state based on determination that the at least one detection criterion is not met, and switching the one or more RF components from the off-state to the on-state after an off-state period, wherein a duration of the off-state period is based at least on a preamble duration of the frame preamble; and to repeat switching the one or more RF components between the on-state and the off-state until the frame preamble is detected by the preamble detector.

Abstract: Various aspects provide a radiohead circuit and a communication device including the radiohead circuit. In an example, the radiohead circuit includes an antenna interface, a radio frequency front end configured to receive a wireless communication signal via the antenna interface, and a processor configured to perform an initial signal detection to detect if a wireless communication signal has been received based on whether a signal the processor received from the radio frequency front end fulfill a predefined radiohead circuit detection criterion, generate an initial signal detection information comprising an information as to whether the wireless communication signal has been received based on the initial signal detection; and provide the initial signal detection information to a communication interface for a final signal detection; the communication interface configured to couple the processor to a radiohead circuit-external processor external to the radiohead circuit.

Abstract: For example, a wireless communication device may be configured to, in a passive scan of a plurality of wireless communication channels, perform an energy detection over the plurality of wireless communication channels during an energy detection period, the energy detection configured to identify for a wireless communication channel of the plurality of wireless communication channels whether or not energy is detected over the wireless communication channel; and based on detection of energy over a first wireless communication channel of the plurality of wireless communication channels during the energy detection period, perform a wireless packet detection over the first wireless communication channel to detect a wireless packet transmission, the wireless packet detection to be performed while continuing the energy detection over one or more second wireless communication channels of the plurality of wireless communication channels to detect energy over the one or more second wireless communication channels.
