    Abstract: Techniques are provided for multi-channel video encoding with cross-channel look ahead rate control. A methodology implementing the techniques according to an embodiment includes encoding a first video channel to generate a first output bitstream and first channel statistics including a quantization parameter, the first video channel comprising a first plurality of video frames at a first resolution. The method further includes encoding a second video channel to generate a second output bitstream encoded at a bit rate based on the first channel statistics, the second video channel comprising a second plurality of video frames at a second resolution. The second resolution may equal the first resolution depending on target bit rates for the channels. The method further includes performing look ahead processing on the first video channel to generate first channel look ahead statistics, and encoding the second video channel based on the first channel look ahead statistics.

    Abstract: Described herein are video streaming techniques for applications and workloads executed in the cloud. In one example, the cloud server device encodes display frames using low-delay encoding techniques for transmission to a client device. The cloud server device receives an overlay bitstream from a client device, combines the overlay data with the display frames, and encodes the frames for the viewers using statistics from the display frames encoded for the client device and/or from the overlay data. The cloud server device can then transmit the bitstream to a third device for viewing (e.g., to a viewer device or a streaming server device).

    Abstract: Technology for low-delay encoding of live video streams in multi-adapter systems can include a host processor and memory comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a computing system to encode, via a first graphics adapter, an I-frame of a live video signal and a first subset of P-frames of the live video signal, encode, via a second graphics adapter, a second subset of P-frames of the live video signal, and combine the encoded video frames from the first adapter and the encoded video frames from the second adapter into an output video bitstream. Frames of the live video signal are divided into the first and second subsets of P-frames on an alternating frame basis, and the I-frame copied from the first graphics adapter to the second graphics adapter prior to encoding the second subset of P-frames, such that encoding the first and second subsets of P-frames occurs essentially in parallel.

    Abstract: An apparatus to facilitate video streaming for cloud gaming is disclosed. The apparatus includes a processor to receive a first compressed content bitstream from a first server device; capture input content to utilize as overlay content for the first compressed content bitstream; determine whether one of a first mode of pass-through encoding is enabled or a second mode of look-ahead encoding is enabled; and responsive to the first mode of pass-through encoding being enabled: generate a second content bitstream representing the input content; multiplex the first compressed content bitstream with the second content bitstream to generate a third combined content bitstream; and transmit the third combined content bitstream to a streaming server device for streaming to one or more users.
