摘要: Technology for low-delay encoding of live video streams in multi-adapter systems can include a host processor and memory comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a computing system to encode, via a first graphics adapter, an I-frame of a live video signal and a first subset of P-frames of the live video signal, encode, via a second graphics adapter, a second subset of P-frames of the live video signal, and combine the encoded video frames from the first adapter and the encoded video frames from the second adapter into an output video bitstream. Frames of the live video signal are divided into the first and second subsets of P-frames on an alternating frame basis, and the I-frame copied from the first graphics adapter to the second graphics adapter prior to encoding the second subset of P-frames, such that encoding the first and second subsets of P-frames occurs essentially in parallel.

摘要: A method for media content streaming includes: receiving a command to start playback of a first media content item, wherein a first portion of the first media content item has been transcoded to generate at least one passive adaptive streamlet, and the first portion of the first media content item starts at a playback position and ends at an optimal transition point; outputting, by a content streaming device, one of the at least one passive adaptive streamlet; while outputting the one of the at least one passive adaptive streamlet, requesting, receiving, and transcoding a second portion of the first media content item to generate an active adaptive streamlet of the first media content item, wherein the active adaptive streamlet starts at the optimal transition point of the first media content item; and immediately following outputting the one of the at least one passive adaptive streamlet, outputting the active adaptive streamlet of the first media content item.

摘要: Methods, systems, and devices for improved video throughput using deep learning video coding are described. A device may receive a bitstream including a set of video frames. The device may batch the set of video frames into a first subset of video frames and a second subset of video frames based on a change in a reference scene associated with the set of video frames. The device may select a mode of operation for a neural processing unit of the device based on the batching. The device may generate a set of video packets including the first subset of video frames, the second subset of video frames, or both, based on the neural processing unit and the selected mode of operation.

摘要: Systems, methods and computer readable mediums are presented for encoding a stream of input video frames, in which the input video frames are down sampled and the down sampled frames are encoded in a first encoding pass to generate a set of first pass coded frames forming a single first pass I frame and a plurality of first pass P frames formed into first pass sub-groups of pictures (SUB-GOPs). First pass encoding statistics are generated for individual first pass SUB-GOPs, and the statistics are used to encode the input video frames in a second encoding pass to generate a set of second pass coded frames.

摘要: A spatial complexity and a temporal complexity associated with one or more frames of media content may be determined. Based on the spatial complexity and the temporal complexity of the media content, a Group of Picture (GOP) size for the one or more frames of the media content may be determined. The GOP size may be inversely proportional to the spatial complexity and the temporal complexity of the one or more frames of media content. Certain frames of the media content may be arranged in a different GOP size as compared to one or more other frames of the media content. By varying the GOP size of the plurality of frames of the media content, the bitrate required to transmit the media content may be decreased without decreasing or substantially decreasing the overall quality of the media content.

摘要: One embodiment of the invention sets forth a mechanism for encoding video streams associated with the same digital content such that switch points staggered across two video streams occur at every offset temporal distance. The offset temporal distance is less than the distance between two consecutive key frames in a given video stream. This enables a content player to switch to a video stream having a playback quality up or down one level from a current video stream at the offset temporal distance from the most recently played key frame. In effect, the content player does not wait the entire key frame temporal distance before switching.
