    Abstract: Emails are received and parsed for a set of dates. A set of words surrounding the set of dates are identified and contextual information is correlated with the set of dates based on the set of words. It is then determined whether the dates are promotional expiration dates based on the contextual information. The emails that have promotional dates are placed in a list having a chronological order that is based on the promotional expiration dates. The current calendar date is checked and emails are excluded from the list in response to the current calendar date being chronologically after the promotional expiration date. The list is then displayed based on the exclusion of the email.

    Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for assisting the authoring of electronic messages are disclosed. Operations performed according to an example embodiment may include: accessing an electronic message stored in digital form in a computer memory; inspecting the electronic message to identify intended recipients of the electronic message; gathering and analyzing historical data stored in digital form in a computer memory relating to a conversation history that links an author of the electronic message to the intended recipients; performing semantic analysis on the electronic message to extract words and phrases representing recipient fitness information that is indicative of whether the electronic message is appropriate for the intended recipients; generating a fitness result for the electronic message by comparing the recipient fitness information to the historical data and identifying inconsistencies; and outputting the fitness result for viewing on an electronic display device associated with the author of the electronic message.

    Abstract: An approach is provided to notify an addressee of postal mail. The approach is performed by reading an enhanced intelligent mail barcode affixed to the postal mail. The enhanced intelligent mail barcode identifies a contents of the postal mail. The approach further retrieves an electronic contact address that corresponds to the addressee of the postal mail. Finally, the approach transmits an electronic notification, such as an email, text message, voice message, etc. to the retrieved electronic contact address that corresponds to the addressee.

    Abstract: An apparatus includes a sensor module, a transmission module, a flow reduction module, and a flow return module. The sensor module senses presence of a shower item on a shelf in a shower and senses a lack of presence of the shower item on the shelf. The transmission module wirelessly transmits an item missing signal. The item missing signal is transmitted in response to sensing a lack of presence of the shower item on the shelf. The flow reduction module reduces water flow to a shower head in the shower from a first flow level to a reduced flow level in response to wirelessly receiving the item missing signal. The flow return module returns water flow to the first flow level in response to expiration of a restore time delay or wirelessly receiving an item return signal in response to sensing a presence of the shower item on the shelf.

    Abstract: Embodiments provide a method and device that enables automatic selection of settings for ironing one or more pieces of fabric. A digital camera on an ironing device captures an image of a fabric. A wireless communication device on the ironing device communicates the image to a remote computing system for digital image processing to determine a fabric type and to select a set of settings based on the fabric type. The wireless communication device receives the set of settings from the remote computing system. The set of settings are applied to the ironing device.
