Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method, computer system, and computer program product for creating a social network in augmented reality (AR) based on focus objects is provided. The present invention may include monitoring an augmented reality session of a user; detecting focus objects of a user during the augmented reality session; labeling the detected focus objects with indications of interest; associating the labeled detected focus objects with additional users; and establishing, based on the labelled detected focus objects, a social network, where the social network contains focus objects sourced from additional users.

Abstract: Disclosed embodiments provide techniques for identifying gaps in health management data, and combining an estimated data subset with the health management data to fill in gaps in the health management data. The health management data can be derived from a wearable electronic fitness tracking device such as a smart watch or pedometer. The estimated data subset can be derived based on historical data for the individual, average data for a demographic group, crowdsourced, or estimated based on user profile information, and/or portable electronic device information, such as from a smartphone belonging to a user. The estimated data subset is combined with the health management data to form a revised health parameter dataset. The estimated data subset may be sent to a wearable electronic fitness tracking device, which causes the wearable electronic fitness tracking device to initiate a fitness program adjustment based on the revised health parameter dataset.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for transitioning between different realities. The distance of the objects from a reference point in the first and second reality environments is determined. For example, the distance of the object's location in the first reality environment from a reference point (e.g., camera system) as well as the distance of the object's location in the second reality environment from the reference point is determined. A determination is made as to whether the likelihood of a transition shock event (e.g., motion sickness) occurring as a user transitions between the first and second reality environments exceeds a threshold value. In response to the likelihood of the transition shock event occurring exceeding the threshold value, the distance of the object from the reference point in the first and/or second reality environments is modified so as to prevent users from experiencing transition shocks when transitioning between realities.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for enhancing augmented reality layers. The type of activity a user is engaged in during an augmented reality session is detected. A set of markers for display within the augmented reality session are detected. A useful markers threshold is determined and a set of priority markers of the set of the detected set of markers is generated. A set of layers for display based on the set of priority markers is generating. one or more markers of the set of priority markers to the generated set of layers is mapped. An ordered list of layers of the generated set of layers is generated, wherein the ordered list is prioritized based on a user activity interest value and the generated set of layers and associated mapped markers to the user via the augmented reality session are displayed.

Abstract: An intelligent recommendation system and method for suggesting users perform various tasks in different reality systems to help user to maximize their productivity and achieve better satisfaction. By recognizing that a user is not efficient or unable to perform tasks well in real reality, the system suggests that the user try doing the similar task in a virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) environment and effects a physical switching to that environment for the user to practice and improve user's skill on the tasks. Further, by recognizing that user's emotions (e.g., sad or bad mood), the system further suggests the user to do certain things in the VR or AR environment to improve user's mood. The system and method continuously suggests performing tasks in VR or AR as needed, based on user's task efficiency score in real reality and any improvement occurred in RR when doing the task in VR.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method, computer program product, and system for avoiding augmented reality blindness during an augmented reality session via an augmented reality device used by a user. In the method, computer program product, and system a set of visual representations within the augmented reality session is detected. A set of labeling objects is applied to the set of visual representations within the augmented reality session. A subset of labeling objects and associated visual representation within a display view of the augmented reality device are recorded in a history table. A blindness quotient based on the history table of recorded labeled objects and associated visual representation is calculated. In response to the calculated blindness quotient exceeding a threshold, the set of labeling objects within the display view of the augmented reality device are modified.

Abstract: An object of interest in an augmented reality view within a display of an augmented reality device is identified. A location of the object of interest is determined. A plurality of markers related to the object of interest is received. Metadata information associated with each of the plurality of markers is received. The metadata includes an indication of a location of an author of the marker at a time of authorship of the marker. The location of each of the plurality of markers is determined based upon the metadata information. A distance measure between the location of each of the plurality of markers and the location of the object of interest is determined. The plurality of markers are de-duplicated to form a subset of the plurality of markers based upon the determined distance measures. The subset of markers is sent to the augmented reality device.

Abstract: A publication tool, and methods of use thereof, for publishing user created content as well as republishing content created by others to a social media network. The publication tool incorporates and uses analytic data from a plurality of data sources to identify and evaluate relationships between the user of the social media network and members of social media networks who subscribe to view the content published by the user on the social media network. The publication tool predicts the likelihood that a subscriber of the social media network will publish or share the same content as the user and if the publication tool predicts that the same content will be published by the user and the subscriber, the publication tool will publish the content on the social media network as a joint publication which can be viewed by all common subscribers shared between the user and the subscriber.
