Abstract: An insulated connector is provided for use in making tap connections to insulated power lines. Abstract: A connector for making an electrical connection to a threaded stud for power distribution applications such as transformer applications. A conductive connector threaded at one end to receive the stud is insulated with a protective jacket which mates with the stud bushing to enclose the connection. A set screw projects through the insulation into a threaded socket to bear against the stud when the set screw is tightened. The bearing surface may be a section of the wall of the body within the threaded area or may be an inset pressure pad, or plastic set screw tip. The free end of the connector may have a suitable connector for connection to a cable. A slideable insulating sleeve or boot fitted over the last mentioned connector may insulatingly cover the entire connection.

Abstract: A connector is disclosed which permits electrical connection from a threaded stud such as used on transformer applications for power distribution to a plurality of secondary cables or the like. A conductive pad or adapter threaded at one end to receive the stud is mounted removably to the connector to position the connector normal to the stud. By providing a removable adapter, the adapter to connector attachment can be released without the necessity of disconnecting any secondary or service conductors from the connector.

Abstract: A formed electrically insulating cover which covers all exposed electrical surfaces of a connector. The insulating cover is formed or molded to conform generally to the outer contours of the connector being covered. A skirt depends from the main body of the cover to enclose an open area providing exit space for conductors extending from the connector, the skirt having sufficient length to cover exposed or stripped portions of the conductors. Inherent snap-fastening members are provided in the skirt to fit about one end of the connector and lock the cover thereto.

Abstract: The improved current limiter system includes aluminum terminal connectors at each end, the one end capable of connection to conducting elements such as an aluminum bus connector and at the other end the limiter may be connected to an aluminum conductor such as an insulated cable. The number of electrical contact points between the limiter and its connections is reduced in number but not in available contact area, thereby to produce a maximum of heat transfer. The heat transfer characteristics of the limiter are further enhanced in that air pockets or voids within the enclosed connection are reduced and contact area is large. The limiter is capable of being sheathed in a suitable insulating jacket without the necessity of taping its connection to the cable or to the bus bar.

Abstract: To provide a large contact area and rigid high pressure connection between a heavy power carrying terminal and a power distribution bus, capable of being thoroughly insulated with water-impervious material, a tapered or inverted frusto-conic socket is suitably machined or incised into the bus and a terminal having a similarly tapered shank is press-fitted into the socket. A clearance bore through the shank receives a bolt for connection through a receiver in the bus located beneath the conic socket. An arched washer may be used under the head of the bolt to maintain a high pressure engagement between the terminal shank and the bus during changing thermal or vibratory conditions. The entire connection area may then be jacketed with a double jacket, the jacket serving to insulate the bus and connection in a water-impervious, sealing fashion.
