摘要: A method for manufacturing heat-resistant polyvinyl chloride fiber is given without injuring the flame-retardance of the polyvinyl chloride fiber, by grafting acrylic acid or calcium acrylate onto polyvinyl chloride by a radiation chemical process. The polyvinyl chloride fiber is irradiated either in contact with a mixture of water, ethylene dichloride and acrylic or in contact with a mixture of methanol, water, ethylene dichloride and calcium acrylate. In the case of the grafting of acrylic acid the graft fiber is subjected to a heat treatment or grafted polyacrylic acid is converted to a divalent metal salt.

摘要: A heat resistant and/or fire retardant synthetic fiber is obtained by a process comprising immersing a polyethylene fiber into a solution of acrylic acid or impregnating a polyethylene fiber with a solution of acrylic acid and irradiating the polyethylene fiber with an ionizing radiation to graft polymerize the polyethylene fiber with at least 15%, based on the weight of the polyethylene fiber, of acrylic acid, or a process comprising irradiating a polyethylene fiber with an ionizing radiation and then immersing the polyethylene fiber into a solution of acrylic acid or impregnating the polyethylene fiber with a solution of acrylic acid to graft polymerize the polyethylene fiber with at least 15%, based on the weight of the polyethylene fiber, of acrylic acid.

摘要: Novel antiflaming fibers having excellent dyeability and heat resistance are prepared from a matrix-polymerized resin which comprises polymerizing acrylonitrile in the matrix of a vinyl chloride resin. A vinyl chloride resin and/or an acrylonitrile resin can be added in a specific amount to the matrix-polymerized resin when dissolved in a spinning solvent. Substantially the same fibers are also prepared from blended polymers which comprise blending a specific vinyl chloride resin and a specific acrylonitrile resin in the specific proportion, by employing the coagulation bath of an aqueous solution of calcium chloride.

摘要: A voice recording/reproducing apparatus suitable for use in a language laboratory operates with a disk on which are recorded text segments comprising sentences and a table of contents containing text and sentence addresses. Automatic sensing of the division points between sentences in each of the text sections can be performed. Only the end portion of a sentence may be readily reproduced, and the division point following the sentence may be finely adjusted. Desired audio data may be quickly retrieved by rough retrieval operations, in which the time code is advanced or reversed by a large amount, followed by fine retrieval operations, in which the time code is advanced or reversed by a small amount. One of several pronunciation practice modes may be selected. A reduced reproduction speed capability allows a student to hear fine pronunciation of words with an invariant pitch.

摘要: In a fluorescent display panel comprising a grid member comprising, in turn, a pair of grid leads extended integrally from a grid frame to which a grid is attached, each grid lead is fixed to a substrate of the panel. When driven in a time division fashion, the panel produces audible noises disagreeable to the ear. In order to reduce the noises, at least one of the grid lead pair is deformed perpendicularly of the grid at its portion between the grid frame and the portion at which the grid lead is fixed to the substrate. The deformation may be an indent directed either away or towards the substrate, with the thickness of the grid lead rendered at the position of the indent. The deformation may alternatively be a bend, with the thickness kept uniform. Also in the latter case, an indent is formed in the grid lead.
