    摘要: An extended colorspace which has a higher accuracy and a wider gamut than sRGB color space is disclosed. The extended color space includes an alpha channel which defines the translucency of the color image. The alpha channel is different from known alpha channels in that the inventive alpha channel can represent “super transparent” and “super opaque” values by allowing the alpha parameter (α) to be greater than 1 and less than 0. A data structure for storing the extended colorspace information has three fields, a sign field, an integer field and a decimal field. The sign field defines whether an integer is negative or positive. The integer field defines the integer, wherein the integer defines the super or under saturated values for color and alpha components. The decimal field defines the fine detailed information for the value of the color and alpha components.

    摘要: The present invention provides a method, apparatus and computer-readable medium for providing high quality substantially visually error-free conversion of color images. The method maps the color values to an expanded colorspace to represent substantially all colors without perceptible visual error and labels an image determined by the mapped color values as an expanded colorspace image. Thus, the present invention may be utilized to provide a linear color management system. In a 16 bit color data value system, transparency/opaqueness information may be stored, and premultiplied or premultiplied and normalized values may be used for blending.

    摘要: Color measurement using compact devices is described herein. A color measurement device can include a diffraction grating that receives light reflected from a surface whose color is being measured. The diffraction grating is responsive to a control signal to split selected components from the reflected light and to admit the components in sequence to a sensor. The components can correspond to a selected wavelength or frequency of the reflected light. The sensor measures the energy or power level of each of the admitted components. The device can support determining a spectral representation of the color of the surface by generating output signals representing the various energy or power levels of each component of the light reflected from the surface.

A pentaprism, pantamirror, right angle prism or right angle mirror monogon 30 is rotated about an axis passing through its sides and through the axis of the applied light beam 8. By reflections off of two mirrored surfaces 22, 24, the output light beam 28 creates a plane of light. When, or if, the pentaprism 30 wobbles about the rotational axis, the effects of the wobble are eliminated because via the internal reflections of the pentaprism, the output light beam 28a is parallel to the original output light beam 28, the parallel light beams 28, 28a being focused onto the scan surface by external optics 70.

    摘要: A flying spot scanning system is provided by utilizing reflected light from a multifaceted rotating polygon which is then directed to the scanned medium. A light source illuminates at least one of the facets of the polygon during each scanning cycle to provide a scanning beam of light. In each scanning cycle, information is transmitted to the scanned medium by modulating the light from the light source in accordance with a video signal. A first cylindrical lens is employed in convolution with other optical elements to focus the scanning beam to a spot in a focal plane at the surface of the medium. Start of scan detection is provided for the synchronization of the scanning cycles by means apart from the scan width on the medium. A portion of the beam at the start of scan position is deflected to impinge upon a second cylindrical lens which focuses the deflected beam to a spot received by a detector element.

    摘要: Stereoscopic image display is described. In an embodiment, a location of the eye pupils of a viewer is determined and tracked. An image is displayed within a first focus for viewing with the left eye of the viewer, and the image is displayed within a second focus for viewing with the right eye of the viewer. A positional change of the eye pupils is tracked and a sequential image that corresponds to the positional change of the eye pupils is generated for stereoscopic viewing. In another embodiment, an image is displayed for stereoscopic viewing and a head position of a viewer relative to a center of the displayed image is determined. A positional change of the viewer's head is tracked, and a sequential image that corresponds to the positional change of the viewer's head is generated for stereoscopic viewing.
