    摘要: There is provided a storage layer (13) between storage layers (11), (15). The storage layer (13) produces a relatively large spherical aberration for a protection layer thickness error. Information is written to or read from the storage layer (13) with a beam of light having a second wavelength. Information is written to or read from the storage layers (11), (15) with a beam of light having a first wavelength (longer than the second wavelength). Accordingly, a multi-format optical storage medium is realized on which information can be recorded or reproduced with a single objective lens. Also, an optical pickup is realized which is capable of recording or reproducing information on the multi-format optical storage medium.

    摘要: An optical disk includes a plurality of disk sheets which are laminated, and each of which has a recording face on one of the surfaces and a flat back surface, wherein the plurality of disk sheets are laminated by adhesive layers in such a manner that between adjacent two disk sheets, a back surface of one of the disk sheets, on the opposite side of the surface where the recording face is formed, faces the disk surface of the other disk sheet. The foregoing structure realizes an optical disk of desirable recording/reproducing characteristics, which is flat and has a fixed interval between recording faces, and which permits the problems of coma aberration, spherical aberration, etc., to be suppressed.

    摘要: A magneto-optical memory medium is provided, on a substrate, with a first magnetic layer, which shows in-plane magnetization at room temperature and perpendicular magnetization above a certain temperature, and a second magnetic layer, which shows perpendicular magnetization within a range from room temperature up to its Curie temperature. The first magnetic layer is made up of alternating films of rare earth metals and transition metals. As a result, a magneto-optical memory medium can be provided which has a wide reproducing power margin, and which is able to prevent deterioration of characteristics due to repeated laser projection.
