Abstract: A metal-ion battery is provided. The metal-ion battery includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separating structure, and an electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode and the negative electrode are separated by the separating structure, and the electrolyte composition is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The separating structure includes a first separator, a second separator, and a dielectric layer, wherein the dielectric layer is disposed between the first separator and the second separator. The dielectric layer consists of a dielectric material, and the dielectric material has a dielectric constant from 10 to 200.

Abstract: An electrolyte composition and a metal-ion battery employing the same are provided. The electrolyte composition includes a metal halide, a solvent, and an additive. The solvent is an ionic liquid or organic solvent. The molar ratio of the metal halide to the solvent is from 1:1 to 2.2:1. The amount of additive is from 1 wt % to 25 wt %, based on the total weight of the metal halide and the solvent. The additive is monochloroethane, trichlorethylene, dichloroethane, trichloroethane, phosphorus trichloride, phosphorus pentachloride, methyl pyidine, methyl nicotinate, or a combination thereof.

The metal-ion battery can include a negative electrode, a positive electrode, a separator, and an electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode and the negative electrode are separated by the separator and the electrolyte is disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode. The negative electrode can include a negative electrode current-collector and a negative electrode active layer, wherein the negative electrode current-collector has a porous structure and the negative electrode current-collector directly contacts to the surface of the negative electrode active layer. The electrolyte can include an ionic liquid and a metal halide.

Abstract: An electrolyte composition and a metal-ion battery employing the same are provided. The electrolyte composition includes a metal halide, an organic compound, and a halogen-containing salt, wherein the halogen-containing salt has a structure represented by Formula (I) [Ca+]i[X−]j Formula (I) , wherein M can be IA element, IIA element, IIIA element, IVA element, VA element, VIA element, transition metal, pyrrolium, pyrrolinium, pyrrolidinium, pyridinium, ammonium, imidazolium, indazolium, pyrimidinium, etc.; wherein A can be F, Cl, Br, or I; a=j/i; i is 1, 2, 3, or 4; j is 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6. The molar ratio of the metal halide to the organic compound is higher than 2, and the molar ratio of metal halide to the halogen-containing salt is higher than 2. The metal halide is different from the halogen-containing salt.

Abstract: A metal-ion battery is provided. The metal-ion secondary battery includes a first chamber, a second chamber, and a control element. A positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a first electrolyte are disposed within the first chamber. A second electrolyte is disposed within the second chamber, and wherein components and/or concentration of the first electrolyte are different from those of the second electrolyte. The control element determines whether to introduce the second electrolyte disposed within the second chamber into the first chamber via a first pipeline.

Abstract: A method for charging aluminum batteries includes performing a first charging procedure for the aluminum battery until the voltage of the aluminum battery reaches a set value. The first charging procedure at least includes a first constant-current charging using a first constant current to charge an aluminum battery in a first stage. The range of the first constant current is from 5 C to 100 C, and C (C-rate) refers to a unit of the capacity of the aluminum battery. When the voltage of the aluminum battery reaches the set value, a first constant-voltage charging uses a first constant voltage to charge the aluminum battery. According to the charging current provided by the first constant voltage to the aluminum battery or the charge time for the aluminum battery charged by the first constant voltage, a determination is made to stop the charging process on the aluminum battery.
