    Abstract: A chip card reading arrangement is provided including a chip card reading device including a data processing circuit and a reader antenna coupled to the data processing circuit arranged at a surface of the chip card reading device for placing a chip card to communicate with the chip card reading device via the reader antenna. The data processing circuit is configured to process at least one of signals received via the reader antenna and signals to be transmitted via the reader antenna. The chip card reading arrangement further includes an antenna structure including an antenna body, a first antenna and a second antenna coupled to the first antenna and surrounded by the first antenna. The antenna structure is arranged on and fixed to the surface of the chip card reading device such that the reader antenna surrounds the second antenna.

    Abstract: A transponder unit for the contactless transmission of modulated data to a reader is provided. The transponder unit includes a clock generator configured to generate a clock signal and to synchronize the clock signal in a synchronization mode, on the basis of a signal received from the reader, and a modulator, the modulator configured to modulate data on the basis of the clock signal from the clock generator. The modulator is configured to generate a modulation pause by masking out at least one modulation component, the modulation component being smaller than a modulation pulse. The modulator is further configured to send the signal for starting the synchronization mode to the clock generator during this modulation pause.

    Abstract: A circuit for performing a near-field communication having a contactless circuit which is configured for the contactless exchange of data signals with an external contactless reading device, a security circuit which has a memory in which application identifiers are stored and which is configured to execute security-related applications, and a control circuit which is configured to execute non-security-related applications, wherein the contactless circuit, the security circuit and the control circuit are coupled with one another in such a way and, using at least one of the application identifiers, are configured in such a way that the data signals are supplied from the contactless circuit to the control circuit and vice versa exclusively by means of the security circuit. The security circuit can furthermore store bonding and authentication keys for applications in the control circuit in order to set up a secure data exchange channel for these applications.

    Abstract: A boosted near field communication device includes an electronic circuit, a transceiver circuit, an interface coupling the electronic circuit with a host controller, and a memory containing a first information about an activation characteristic of the electronic circuit. The transceiver circuit is configured to determine a timing requirement of a reading device based on one or more request signals, activate the electronic circuit with energy obtained at least one of from an electromagnetic field generated by the reading device or from a battery on receiving a request signal from the reading device, and ensure that after activating the electronic circuit, the electronic circuit can receive and process a request signal from the reading device corresponding to the determined timing requirement by using the determined timing requirement and the first information about an activation characteristic.
