摘要: A medical manipulation assembly includes a catheter and distal and proximal steering mechanisms. The catheter includes distal and proximal steerable portions with working channels configured to receive an instrument. The distal steering mechanism is operable to bend the distal steerable portion in a first plane relative to the proximal steerable portion in response to movement of a first portion of the distal steering mechanism about a first axis of rotation and to bend the distal steerable portion in a second plane relative to the proximal steerable portion in response to movement of a second portion of the distal steering mechanism about a second axis of rotation. The proximal steering mechanism is operable to bend the proximal steerable portion by rotational movement of the proximal steering mechanism. Distal pullwires extend between the distal steerable portion and steering mechanism and proximal pullwires extend between the proximal steerable portion and steering mechanism.

摘要: A medical manipulation assembly comprises a catheter including distal and proximal steerable portions with working channels. The assembly further comprises a steerable sheath through which the steerable portions extend. A distal steering mechanism, including a first lumen extending along a longitudinal axis of the catheter, bends the distal steerable portion. A proximal steering mechanism, including a second lumen extending along the axis and defined by a wall, bends the proximal steerable portion by rotational movement of the proximal steering mechanism independently of the distal steerable portion. The wall is rotatable about the axis. Distal pullwires extend between the distal steerable portion and the distal steering mechanism. Proximal pullwires extend between the proximal steerable portion and the proximal steering mechanism. The second lumen is axially aligned with an access lumen extending proximally from the proximal steering mechanism through which the distal and proximal working channels may receive a visualization instrument.

摘要: A computer implemented method comprises activating a control mechanism on a catheter handle in a first direction with respect to a user to steer a distal end of a catheter within a body in a second direction while the catheter handle is in a first rotational position. The control mechanism includes a first indicator associated with the first direction. The computer implemented method also includes obtaining an image from the distal end of the catheter of a tissue region of interest within the body and calibrating a first rotational motion of the catheter handle with a rotational motion of the image. With the catheter handle in a second rotational position that is different than the first rotational position, the control mechanism activated in the first direction with respect to the user moves the distal end of the catheter in the second direction.

The distal and proximal portion working channels are configured to receive a visualization instrument.

摘要: In vivo visualization systems are described which facilitate tissue treatment by a user in utilizing real time visualized tissue images with generated three-dimensional models of the tissue region of interest, such as the left atrial chamber of a subject's heart. Directional indicators on the visualized tissue as well as the imaging systems may be utilized while other variations may utilize image rotation or manipulation of visualized tissue regions to facilitate catheter control. Moreover, visualized tissue regions may be combined with imaged tissue regions as well as navigational information to further facilitate tissue treatments.
