摘要: The present technology relates to a catheter navigation system that includes a catheter comprising a steerable distal tip including a proximity sensor. The system also includes a catheter controller. The catheter controller includes a processor; and memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the catheter controller to perform operations. The operations may include receiving, from the catheter, a proximity signal generated by the proximity sensor, identifying a steering target based on the proximity signal, and generating a steering signal to steer the steerable distal tip towards the steering target.

摘要: Using a catheter, a device is delivered to the heart of a subject. The device includes a cord and multiple anchors distributed along the cord. Subsequently, the device is arranged in an arrangement at the tissue such that the cord is positioned and laid out correspondingly to the tissue. While the device remains in the arrangement, (i) a first subset of the anchors which are positioned for successful anchoring is identified, and (ii) subsequent to the identifying, for each of the anchors of the first subset, a respective anchor launcher is actuated to drive the anchor into the tissue. Subsequently, for each of the anchors that remain not driven into the tissue, (i) the anchor is positioned for successful anchoring, and (ii) a respective anchor launcher is actuated to drive the anchor into the tissue. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

摘要: Methods for advancing a device through a gastrointestinal tract. These methods may include inserting a device into the gastrointestinal tract, advancing a first portion of the device having a first vacuum port distally through the gastrointestinal tract away from a second portion of the device having a second vacuum port, sliding the second vacuum port towards the first vacuum port while the first vacuum port is applying suction, preventing tissue from moving distally past the first vacuum port by radially expanding a blocker that is positioned proximal to the first vacuum port, activating vacuum through the second vacuum port to suction tissue of the gastrointestinal tract to the second vacuum port, and releasing vacuum on the first vacuum port and advancing the first vacuum port distally through the gastrointestinal tract a desired distance while the vacuum is activated through the second vacuum port.

摘要: The present disclosure includes a method of locating a treatment site of a patient and treating a vascular disease, comprising inserting a wire into a vessel of the patient. In some examples, the wire has a distal end and a proximal end located opposite the distal end and is coupled to a control device at the proximal end. The method may comprise an at least one light- emitting diode (LED) disposed in a distal portion of the wire, the distal portion is adjacent the distal end. According to some examples, the method comprises illuminating, via the control device, the at least one LED within the vessel of the patient. The method may comprise locating, extracorporeally, the at least one LED. In some examples, the method includes positioning the wire via the at least one LED so that the distal end is located adjacent to the treatment site.

摘要: A catheter insertion device includes a housing, a needle coupled to a needle hub, a catheter pre-disposed over the needle, a guidewire pre-disposed in a lumen of the needle, a guidewire advancement assembly configured to distally advance the guidewire with respect to the needle, and a catheter advancement assembly configured to distally advance the catheter with respect to the needle. The needle hub can be fixed to an interior of the housing with a distal section of the needle extending from the housing. The catheter advancement assembly can include a tail portion to engage the needle hub in order to prevent movement of the catheter advancement assembly. The catheter insertion device can also include a flash indicator with an elongate channel in fluid communication with the needle lumen. The elongate channel can include a viewable pathway to indicate to a user that the needle tip is within a blood vessel.

摘要: A flexible catheter includes an elongated body, a first monolithic wire, and a second monolithic wire. The first monolithic wire forms a first sensor that is disposed in the distal end portion of the elongated body. The first sensor is configured to detect the position of a distal end of the elongated body within anatomy of a patient. The second monolithic wire forms a second sensor that is disposed in the distal end portion of the elongated body a known distance from the first sensor. The first and second sensors are configured to determine the position of the distal end portion within six degrees-of-freedom. A method of manufacturing the flexible catheter is also provided.
