    摘要： The use of polymers comprising as essential structural elements units of the formula I and/or II in which R1 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl or aralkyl, R2 and R3 independently of one another are defined as for R1 or are selected from substituted alkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, substituted aryl or substituted aralkyl, the substituents being selected from OH, O-alkyl, O-aryl, SH, S-alkyl, S-aryl, NH2, NH-alkyl, NH-aryl, N(alkyl)2, in protonated form if desired, N(alkyl)3+Z31 , where Z is the radical of an organic or inorganic acid, COOH, COO-alkyl, CONH2, CONH-alkyl, CON(alkyl)2, CN and SO3H; and the indices x in each case independently of one another are an integer from 1 to 20, and their corresponding acid addition salts as biocides.

    摘要： A composition comprising a potassium salt of N′-hydroxy-N-cyclohexyldiazenium oxide (KHDO) and a diluent is useful for killing fungi. Such a composition but which additionally includes at least one of certain other fungicidally active components is useful for combating microorganisms in general. Such other fungicidally active component is selected from: alcohols, isothiazolones, activated halogen compounds, formaldehyde release compounds, phenolic compounds, aldehydes, acids and esters, biphenyls, urea derivatives, O-acetals, O-formals, N-acetals, N-formals, benzamidines, phthalimides, pyridine derivatives, quaternary ammonium and phosphonium compounds, amines, amphoteric compounds, dithiocarbamates, compounds containing active oxygen and mixtures of any of these.

    摘要： A method of reducing the level of bacteria and viruses in a volume of water during aquaculture comprises:—(a) providing the volume of water to be stocked with farmed aquatic organisms or eggs thereof; (b) prior to the stocking, introducing into the water an aqueous solution of glutaraldehyde in an amount such as to provide in the water from 0.1 to 2 ppm of glutaraldehyde; (c) stocking the water with the farmed aquatic organisms or eggs thereof at a time when the concentration of glutaraldehyde is 0.1 to 2 ppm. (d) allowing the farmed aquatic organisms or eggs thereof to grow; and (e) optionally during a period of the growth, introducing into the water at least one further portion of an aqueous solution of glutaraldehyde in an amount such as to maintain the concentration of the glutaraldehyde at 0.1 to 2 ppm.
