    Abstract: According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first power supply line, a second power supply line, a reset line, pixels, gate lines, control wiring lines, source lines, a first driver and a second driver. Each of the pixels includes a drive transistor, a light emitting element, a pixel switch, a storage capacitor and a reset switch. The reset switch is connected between the reset line and a gate electrode of the drive transistor, and switched between an ON state and an OFF state by a second control signal provided via a corresponding control wiring line among the control wiring lines.

    Abstract: A display device includes: a first controller that outputs an output image signal having the same resolution as that of pixels to an image display panel; and a second controller that transmits an input image signal to the first controller, generates second luminance distribution data divided into regions at a second density lower than a first density equal to the resolution, and transmits the second luminance distribution data to the first controller. The second controller generates first luminance distribution data divided into regions at a third density lower than the second density, controls an illuminator based on the first luminance distribution data, and generates the second luminance distribution data by applying a polynomial interpolation to the first luminance distribution data. The first controller generates third luminance distribution data having the resolution, and generates the output image signal by adjusting the input image signal based on the third luminance distribution data.

    Abstract: The touch sensor device and the display device include: a panel unit having a touch detection area in which a plurality of drive electrodes extend in an X-direction, a plurality of detection electrodes extend in a Y-direction, and a plurality of detection units each composed of a pair of the drive electrode and the detection electrode are formed in a matrix pattern; the drive electrodes each having a width forming two detection units in the Y-direction; and regions each formed by the intersection between one drive electrode and first to fourth detection electrodes. In this region, detection regions having a first sensitivity in which first to fourth detection units are provided and non-detection regions having a second sensitivity are alternately disposed. For example, the detection electrodes have different shapes between the detection region and the non-detection region.

    Abstract: A display device includes an image display panel whose display is controlled by an image signal, a backlight which includes light sources and lights the image display panel from behind, and a display control section which calculates, based on the image signal, the required luminance value of the backlight for each divided area of the image display panel, calculates a tentative lighting level of each light source based on luminance distribution information for the backlight stored previously and the required luminance values, sets the lighting level of a first light source whose tentative lighting level exceeds an upper limit to the upper limit, determines the lighting level of a second light source whose tentative lighting level does not exceed the upper limit, based on the lighting level of the first light source, luminance distribution information, and required luminance value, and controls the backlight by the lighting levels.

    Abstract: The reliability of a display device with an input device is improved. A plurality of detection electrodes (input position detection electrodes) forming an electrostatic capacity between them and a common electrode of a display device to detect an input position are formed on a different substrate from substrates configuring the display device. Moreover, a polarizing plate and the substrate on which the plurality of detection electrodes are formed are adhesively fixed via, for example, an adhesive layer so that the plurality of detection electrodes are fixed so as to be separated apart from the display device. Thus, a distance between electrodes (the detection electrode and a driving electrode) for detecting an input position can be set separately from a thickness of the display device, and therefore, reduction in detection sensitivity (detection reliability) for the input position due to increase in the electrostatic capacity can be suppressed.
