Abstract:
A cylindrical cutting tool for processing splines formed on an outer circumference of a shaft member to extend in an axial direction includes blade portions which are formed in a spline shape on an inner circumference. The blade portions include: a first blade portion which is formed in a terminal end portion in a first direction along the axial direction and which is directed substantially toward the first direction; and a second blade portion which is formed in a terminal end portion in a second direction along the axial direction and opposite to the first direction and which is directed substantially toward the second direction.
Abstract:
A rotation transmitting apparatus includes a first shaft on which multiple external teeth are formed so as to be arranged in a circumferential direction, and a second shaft in which multiple internal teeth are formed so as to be arranged in the circumferential direction, the second shaft being fitted to the first shaft so as to be slidable relative to the first shaft in the axial direction and so as to be engageable with the first shaft in a rotational direction through the use of the external teeth and the internal teeth. A protrusion is formed on the tooth flank of one of the external tooth and the internal tooth, the protrusion being projected toward the corresponding tooth flank of the other of the external tooth and the internal tooth. The protrusion is made of a resin that is more elastically deformable than the tooth flank.
Abstract:
A ball screw mechanism includes a ball nut member that threadedly engages with a rack shaft via a plurality of balls, and a rolling bearing including an outer ring retained by a housing, an inner ring retained by the ball nut member, and a plurality of rolling elements. The ball screw mechanism moves the rack shaft in an axial direction relative to the housing through rotation of the ball nut member. A method for inspecting the ball screw mechanism includes fixing the outer ring to a fixing jig, pressing the rack shaft in the axial direction while restricting its rotation to rotate the ball nut member together with the inner ring relative to the outer ring, measuring an amount of a run-out of the rack shaft along with the rotation of the ball nut member, and determining whether the amount of the run-out satisfies a predetermined condition.
