摘要: A projection-type image display device includes a light source, a phosphor, a filter, and a filter driver. The light source emits blue illumination light. The phosphor generates yellow illumination light, which includes red illumination light and green illumination light from a part of the blue illumination light, and reflects the blue illumination light and the yellow illumination light. The filter reflects the blue illumination light, which is reflected by the phosphor, toward the phosphor, and transmits the yellow illumination light therethrough. The filter driver controls the reflection amount of the blue illumination light toward the phosphor by controlling the insertion amount of the filter onto the optical path of the blue illumination light. The phosphor generates yellow illumination light also from the blue illumination light reflected by the filter.

摘要: A projection image display device includes: a light source that emits a blue illumination light; a phosphor that produces, in a region irradiated by the blue illumination light, a yellow illumination light including a component in a red band and a component in a green band from a portion of the blue illumination light and that reflects the blue illumination light and the yellow illumination light; and a filter that reflects a portion of the blue illumination light reflected by the phosphor toward the phosphor. The filter reflects the portion of the blue illumination light so as to be imaged at a position displaced from a region on a phosphor surface irradiated by the blue illumination light, and the phosphor produces a yellow illumination light also from the blue illumination light reflected by the filter.

摘要: A projection-type image display device includes a light source, a phosphor, and a filter. The light source emits a first blue illumination light. The phosphor generates a first yellow illumination light of a first wavelength band, which includes a component of a red band and a component of a green band, from a part of the first blue illumination light, and reflects a second blue illumination light and the first yellow illumination light. The filter reflects, to the phosphor side, a third blue illumination light that is a part of the second blue illumination light reflected by the phosphor, and attenuates a component of a second wavelength band of the first yellow illumination light, which is narrower than the first wavelength band. The phosphor also generates a second yellow illumination light from the third blue illumination light reflected by the filter.

摘要: A projection display device includes a plurality of reflective liquid crystal panels, a plurality of polarizers, and a combining optical system. The combining optical system includes a first incident surface to which first color light emitted from a first reflective liquid crystal panel and reflected by a combining surface of the combining optical system is incident and a second incident surface to which second color light emitted from a second reflective liquid crystal panel and passing through the combining surface is incident. The polarizes include a first polarizer, which reflects the first color light to the first incident surface, and a second polarizer which reflects the second color light to the second incident surface. An alignment direction of the liquid crystal of the first reflective liquid crystal panel is orthogonal to an alignment direction of the liquid crystal of the second reflective liquid crystal panel.

The polarizes include a first polarizer, which reflects the first color light to the first incident surface, and a second polarizer which reflects the second color light to the second incident surface. An alignment direction of the liquid crystal of the first reflective liquid crystal panel is orthogonal to an alignment direction of the liquid crystal of the second reflective liquid crystal panel.

In the illumination light, a first wavelength component in a first region which is a portion of a region in a cross-sectional view with respect to the traveling direction of the light is smaller than that in a second region which is a region other than the first region. The light shielding unit includes a diaphragm unit which shields the illumination light L and a filter which shields the light having the second wavelength of the illumination light in the second region and transmits the light having the first wavelength of the illumination light in the second region.

摘要: A first image display element modulates first illumination light in which red illumination light and infrared illumination light are alternately switched, based on an image signal for visible light image and an image signal for infrared light image, and emits first image light in which red image light and infrared image light are alternately switched. A second image display element modulates green illumination light based on a green image signal, and emits green image light. A third image display element modulates blue illumination light based on a blue image signal, and emits blue image light. A synthesizer synthesizes the first image light, the green image light, and the blue image light with one another, and obtains synthesized image light. A projection unit projects the synthesized image light.
