Disclosed is an absorbent structure having wet integrity greater than about 4.0 mN/gsm, softness greater than 8.0/J, pliability greater than about 70/N, and providing a substantially dry liquid-accepting surface after receiving a quantity of liquid. The structure includes an upper ply having an upper fluid receiving surface and a lower surface and including (i) a top stratum including synthetic matrix fibers bonded with a binder, the matrix fibers having length from about 2 to about 15 mm; (ii) a middle stratum in fluid communication with the top stratum, the middle stratum including natural fibers, superabsorbent particles and a binder; and (iii) a bottom stratum in fluid communication with the middle stratum, the bottom stratum including natural fibers and a binder. The structure also includes a lower ply in fluid communication with the upper ply, the lower ply having an upper surface and a lower surface and including at least one stratum including natural fibers, superabsorbent polymer particles, and a binder, wherein the lower surface of the upper ply has a surface area less than about 80% of the upper surface area of the lower ply.

A tamper-evident package having pressurized contents includes a closure and associated container which cooperate to provide desired tamper-evidence upon initial removal of the closure from the container, while promoting convenient and comfortable removal and use by consumers. In particular, the package is configured such that from a fully applied position of the closure on the container, the closure is movable through a predetermined angle prior to actuation of the tamper-evident feature on the package. In this fashion, the torque which must be applied to the closure for overcoming the static friction at the sealing interface between the closure and the container can be overcome prior to the application of torque required for operating the tamper-evident feature of the package. The present invention contemplates enhancing the opening performance of the package by configuring the package to include certain structure features to facilitate convenient, consistent, and comfortable use by consumers.

The polymeric material is molded between cooperating male and female molds, with relative movement of the molds controlled to form a mold cavity with a predetermined volume. Formation in this manner acts to produce a molded closure with substantially reduced density, thus achieving desired material savings, while still providing a closure or like article exhibiting desired performance characteristics.

Two different types of lubricant compositions can be applied at two different regions of the inside surface of the closure, wherein the compositions can be selected for preferred organoleptic and lubrication characteristics.
