    摘要: Treatment of aneurysmal blood vessels with local delivery of therapeutic agents thereby reduces or lessens the severity of an aneurysm, and, where used in conjunction with the placement of an excluding device, provides for more rapid recovery of the blood vessel from any disturbance occurring during placement of the excluding device. Therapeutic agents are placed in the aneurysmal site in a time-release carrier medium, such that the therapeutic agent is released into the aneurysmal site over a period of time without the need to provide systemic introduction of the therapeutic agent. The carrier may be introduced through the patient's dermis, such as with the use of a laparoscope, or intravascularly, through the use of a catheter. The carrier may be in a solid matrix, viscous liquid or liquid form.

    摘要: An excluding device is inserted in a vessel. An excluded space is formed between a portion of a wall of the vessel and a portion of an exterior surface of the excluding device. A treatment element is passed through a channel of the excluding device into the excluded space. The channel is sealed using a cuff or patch after the passing of the treatment element(s) such as fill material or drugs and drug releasing elements.

    摘要: A delivery system for delivering a sensor to a body cavity includes a catheter and sheath slidably or rotatably coupled to the catheter. The sheath may be retractable and peelable. The delivery device may include an expandable balloon or a crushable material capable of moving the sensor laterally away from the catheter, to the target site. One embodiment of the delivery system includes a deployment device comprising a cord operably engaged with a pulley, and attached at the distal end to a cap engaged with the sensor. Another embodiment of the delivery system comprises a catheter having a chamber that can accommodate the sensor, and a sheath slidably coupled to the exterior of the catheter, and covering the chamber when the sheath is in the closed position. Further included is a method of delivering a sensor to a body cavity using any of the embodiments of the delivery system.
