摘要: A method of using a pump set on a pump to deliver a supply of liquid to a patient. The pumping apparatus has a control system for controlling operation of the pump. An electromagnetic radiation source is controlled by the control system to emit an electromagnetic radiation signal in a direction for striking a safety interlock device associated with the pump set. The safety interlock device affects the direction of the electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation detector is operatively connected to the control system for receiving the electromagnetic radiation signal when the direction is affected by the safety interlock device, and provides an indication to the control system that the pump set conduit is properly positioned in the pump. The pump is controlled to pump liquid in the pump set only when electromagnetic radiation emitted from the first source is detected by the first detector.

摘要: An enteral feeding pump and feeding set for use to deliver a supply of liquid to a patient. The feeding set has a conduit for the nutrient liquid and a safety interlock device associated with the conduit. The enteral feeding pump has a pumping device and a control system for controlling operation of the pump. An electromagnetic radiation source operatively connected to the control system of the enteral feeding pump emits an electromagnetic radiation signal in a direction for striking the safety interlock device of the feeding set. The safety interlock device is adapted to affect the direction of the electromagnetic radiation. An electromagnetic radiation detector is operatively connected to the control system for receiving the electromagnetic radiation signal when the direction is affected by the safety interlock device, and provides an indication to the control system that the feeding set conduit is properly positioned in the enteral feeding pump.

摘要: An administration feeding set for use with a flow control apparatus to deliver fluid from at least one fluid source to a patient. The set includes tubing for flow of fluid along a fluid pathway and a mounting member on the tubing adapted to engage the flow control apparatus. The mounting member has at least two receiving portions co-axial with the fluid pathway. The set also includes one or more identification members selectively positioned on one or more of the at least two receiving portions of the mounting member to permit identification of the administration feeding set as having a particular functional configuration different from another functional configuration.

摘要: An administration feeding set for use with a flow control apparatus to deliver fluid from at least one fluid source to a patient. The set comprises tubing for flow of fluid along a fluid pathway, and a mounting member on the tubing for engaging the flow control apparatus. The fluid pathway extends linearly through the mounting member. The mounting member has at least two receiving portions, each adapted to receive an identification member. One or more identification members are selectively positioned on one or more of the receiving portions of the mounting member to permit identification of the administration set as having a particular functional configuration different from another functional configuration. Other embodiments, including a method of identifying an administration feeding set, are disclosed.

摘要: An administration feeding set adapted to be loaded to a flow control apparatus is disclosed. The administration feeding set comprises tubing adapted suitably for fluid flow, a valve mechanism suitable for loading the administration feeding set to the flow control apparatus, and a mounting member adapted suitably for permitting identification of the functional configuration of the administration feeding set. Also disclosed is a method for administering fluid utilizing the administration feeding set. There are also disclosed novel valve mechanisms.

摘要: A fluid adapter for connection between a valve having a plurality of ports and a tube has a housing with a distal end and a proximal end. The tube has a single lumen. The proximal end has a first opening connecting to a first lumen being disposed through the housing. The proximal end has a second opening being separated by the first opening by a distance. The second opening is connecting to a second lumen being disposed through the housing. The distal end has the first lumen connecting to a single outlet and the second lumen terminates in the housing. The adapter also has the single outlet of the housing connected to the intermediate tube. The intermediate tube is connected to the tube to permit fluid to traverse through the tube and the valve. Additionally, a valve system has a valve connector including a portion of a first passageway with the valve connector further including a suction port and an introduction port that are spaced apart. The suction port and the introduction port establish fluid communication between the portion of the first passageway and the suction port or the introduction port. At least one port of the valve connector has a collar. The collar is adapted to press fit with a medical device.

摘要: The present disclosure generally relates to a manifold valve assembly engaged to an inflatable apparatus, such as a cushion to prevent pressure ulcers, for example. The manifold valve assembly is also in communication with a processing device to determine an optimal immersion level for a user seated on the inflatable apparatus. Additionally the processing device, in communication with the manifold valve assembly may save optimal immersion or air pressure levels for comparison to future checks of cushion pressure and send that to a user interface at the processing device. The assembly and processing device may also save and display a history of pressure checks.
