摘要： An improved coin sorter sorts coins of at least a first and second denomination according to their denominations. The first coin denomination defines coins which are thicker and wider than the coins of the second denomination. The coin sorter includes a rotatably mounted coin carrying disk having a resilient surface onto which coins may be fed, a mechanism for rotating the coin carrying disk, and a guideplate having a central opening in a configured surface positioned closely adjacent to the disk and over the resilient surface. The configured surface includes an inner recess area for receiving coins of all denominations from the central opening and for allowing those coins to move radially outward. The configured surface further includes a channel area, responsive to the outwardly moving coins, having a width wider than the width of the coins of the first denomination and a depth and opposing walls arranged and constructed such that nonstacked coins of the first and second denominations are respectively guided along and converged from the opposing walls into a single file stream to a common radial location. A sorting mechanism is disposed around the outer periphery of the guideplate for receiving the single file stream of coins and for sorting the coins in the stream according to their respective denominations. Various recesses are included in the disc for alleviating problems resulting from coins becoming stacked.

摘要： A coin wrapping mechanism for wrapping rolls of coins, the mechanism comprising coin stacking means for forming a coin stack containing a predetermined number of coins, a substrate for supporting a selected length of a wrapping material having a coating of a pressure-sensitive, releasable adhesive on the side facing away from the substrate, and wrapping means for bringing the coin stack and the supported length of wrapping material into engagement with each other and then effecting relative movement between the coin stack and the substrate while allowing the coin stack to rotate, whereby the wrapping material is adhered to and wound around the coin stack by the rotation of the coin stack.

摘要： A coin sorter for sorting coins in terms of their diameter includes a referencing wall engaging the radially outer edges of the coins as they are advanced circumferentially so that the radially outer edges of the coins are positioned at a preselected radial location, whereby the radially inner edges of the coins are positioned at different radial locations determined by the diameters of the respective coins. A series of circumferentially spaced exit recesses are formed around the outer periphery of a guide plate with the radially inner edges of the inner ends of successive exit recesses located at different radial positions for receiving the inner portions of coins of progressively increasing diameter. A ramp at the inlet end of each of the exit recesses slopes from the lowermost surface of the guide plate at the inlet end of the exit recess upwardly to the top surface of the exit recess for easing coins into the exit recess under the pressure of a resilient surface. The ramps preferably have a width that is less than half the width of the exit recess. A portion of the inner recess adjacent the inlet end of the spiral recess, and extending across the inlet end of the spiral recess, is spaced farther from the top surface of the disc than the lowermost surface of the guide plate but closer to the top surface of the disc than the upper surface of any pair of stacked coins carried by the disc.

摘要： A currency bill processing system includes a transport mechanism that is configured to transport bills from an input receptacle along a transport path that extends generally horizontally past at least one detector. The transport path transitions generally-vertically upward between a first and a second output receptacle. The transport mechanism is configured to deliver some of the bills toward a first end of the system into the first output receptacle and some of the bills toward a second end of the system into the second output receptacle. The system provides access openings in a front side of the system that are proximate the first and the second output receptacles thereby permitting operator access into the first and the second output receptacles from the front side.

摘要： A stack of a stack of currency bills is received, transported, and imaged. Image data reproducible as a visually readable image of one or more portions of at least one side of each currency bill in the stack is obtained. A serial number and at least one or more additional characters are extracted from the image data for each currency bill. A processor compares the extracted serial number and corresponding extracted one or more additional characters with stored serial number information and corresponding stored additional character information associated with the serial number information of genuine currency bills. The stored serial number information and corresponding stored additional character information uniquely identify a genuine currency bill. Any currency bill that does not have one or more extracted additional characters matching the stored serial number information and corresponding stored additional character information is flagged.
