Abstract:
Disclosed herein are systems and methods for syndication and management of structured and unstructured data to assist institutional healthcare delivery, healthcare providers' practices, healthcare providers' group practices, collaborative academic research and decision making in healthcare, including through the utilization of medical devices and healthcare pools.
Abstract:
A plug which is insertable into a outlet from a vessel, to seal the vessel so that it may hold liquid. To prevent overflow, the plug has an in-built valve which automatically opens when it experiences a predetermined threshold pressure. The threshold pressure can be adjusted to cater for vessels of differing size.
Abstract:
Techniques for measuring Peer-To-Peer (P2P) networks are provided. P2P are initially seeded with links to feigned content. As a P2P participant accesses a link metrics are recorded about the P2P network being used by the participant. The metrics are used to form measurements to compare different P2P networks relative to one another.

Embodiments of a method, apparatus, and article of manufacture for rapidly capturing images in an automated identification system to effectively extend one dimension of a field of view of an image system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the image system captures and processes multiple images of at least a portion of a surface of a component in the automated identification system in response to a trigger signal communicated from a triggering device configured to sense a location of the component. Various embodiments of the invention include multiple sources for capturing images, and/or multiple user-specified schemas for effectively extending the field of view of the image system along the axis of component travel in the automated identification system.
Abstract:
A dentifrice includes a carrier material and a plurality of particles in the carrier material. The plurality of particles includes multiple regions of different colored materials and an outer region which at least partially encapsulates the multiple regions of different colored materials. The multiple regions of different colored materials dissolve in response to a trigger. Each region dissolves in a predetermined amount of time so that the color of the dentrifrice indicates how long a person has been brushing his or her teeth.
Abstract:
A circuit for detecting a phase error between a clock signal and a beam position includes a beam generator, sensor, and phase detector. The beam generator directs a beam toward a beam sweeper in response to a clock signal. The sensor, which is disposed at a mid line of a region that the beam sweeper scans, detects the beam from the beam sweeper, and the phase detector detects an error in the clock phase from the detected beam. Such a circuit can automatically detect the phase error in the pixel clock and correct this error, thus eliminating the need for a manual phase-error corrector.

Abstract:
Patients susceptible to or suffering from conditions and disorders, such as central nervous system disorders, are treated by administering to a patient in need thereof compositions that are hydroxybenzoate salts of E-metanicotine-type compounds. The formation of hydroxybenzoate salts of the E-metanicotine compounds is also useful in purifying the E-metanicotine compounds, as the hydroxybenzoate salts tend to crystallize out, leaving impurities such as Z-metanicotine compounds, and compounds where the double bond has migrated, in solution. If desired, the hydroxybenzoate salts can be converted to either the free base (the E-metanicotine) or to another pharmaceutically acceptable salt form.
Abstract:
An aqueous organic pigment dispersion used to integrally color concrete and other building materials which includes: alkali metal silica particles as a binder; organic pigment; water; and dispersing agent in an amount effective to disperse the organic pigment and the binder in the water. A method for preparing the aqueous organic pigment dispersion includes (i) mixing, at 3,000 to 10,000 rpm, alkali metal silica particles; organic pigment; and dispersing agent, thereby forming a dispersion premix; (ii) milling the dispersion precursor in a mixer filled with glass beads for a period of time sufficient to reduce the particle size of the organic pigment to about 100 to about 300 nanometers, thereby forming a non-standardized dispersion; and (iii) standardizing the dispersion against a color standard by adding water.
