摘要: The die casting machine includes a trough containing a supply of molten metal and a feed tube extending into the supply of molten metal in the trough. A flow of molten metal is maintained in the trough past the feed tube independent of the transfer of molten metal through the feed tube. The die casting machine further includes a filtering system.

摘要: There is provided a method of fabricating sheet stock having reduced earing during container forming. The method comprises the steps of providing a body of an aluminum base alloy suitable for rolling into sheet stock for forming containers therefrom and hot rolling the body to provide a flat rolled product having a hot rolled structure. The flat rolled product is provided with 5 to 20% of the structure being recrystallized. Thereafter, it is annealed in the temperature range of 400.degree. to 700.degree. F. to provide a fully recrystallized product which is cold rolled to sheet stock having reduced earing during container forming.

摘要: A method for making stock shapes from a composition which includes a liquid crystal polymer having a high crystallization temperature, the method including: (a) densifying the composition into a compact; and (b) processing the compact at one or more temperatures below the crystallization temperature using a moderate to high strain rate. For the liquid crystal polymer consisting essentially of p, p' biphenol, p-hydroxybenzoic acid and terephthalic acid monomers and sold under the trademark "XYDAR.RTM.", a preferred embodiment includes heating the compact to one or more temperatures between about 400.degree.-650.degree. F.; and extruding the heated compact in the solid state through a uniform flow-type die at a strain rate of at least about 2 sec.sup.-1.
