摘要: A fluid tight flare nut union is described. Flare nut unions are convenient to install in systems, such as refrigeration systems, and are generally reliably fluid tight. Leaks can occur over time, however, due to environmental stress conditions. Deformable ferrules, in combination with compression nut assemblies, either singly, or redundantly, or in counter rotation redundant assembly, secure the flare nut to the fluid transfer tubing in a locking relationship which prevents the loosening of the flare nut-flare connection with subsequent fluid leakage due to these environmental stresses. Enclosing the complete assembly in water proof insulating material, further insures virtually leak proof operation of the improved flare nut union.

摘要: A method for evaluating an input system interfacing a human user with an electronic device uses empirically determined bi-action times for users to perform a second input action (e.g., pressing a second key) immediately after performing a first input action (e.g., pressing a first key). The bi-action times (or, more generally, n-action times) are used together with a selected interface map which associates input actions (e.g., pressing keys) to corresponding signifiers (e.g., characters) to calculate a peak expert input rate for the input system. One or more optimized interface maps can be found by combining the evaluation method with any of various optimization strategies. For example, one method for optimizing the input system repeatedly changes the interface map and recalculates the peak expert input rate, while another optimization method calculates peak expert input rates for multiple interface maps in parallel. The evaluation and optimization methods apply to a wide variety of users, input devices, and types of communication and control between them.

摘要: Systems, platforms, methods and media for providing genomic services are disclosed. In one example, a genomic services platform comprises a network interface through which genomic sequence reads derived from a biological sample obtained from a user are received. The platform also includes a bioinformatics processing pipeline that includes a read alignment module configured to receive a genomics file from genomic sequencing equipment and use data contained therein to generate observed sequence data by aligning the sequence reads relative to a reference sequence. A variant calling module identifies observed variants in the observed sequence data and stores the observed variants in a variant calling file. A variant refinement module produces genotype data including a set of refined variants associated with the user, and a variant imputation module produces a set of imputed variants associated with the user. The variant imputation module can separate the genotype data into high-quality and low-quality genotypes based on a genotype quality.

摘要: A control system and method for operating a coin redemption machine includes a coin redemption machine functioning as a peripheral device to a separate computer linked to the coin redemption machine through a communications link for reciprocal communication between the coin redemption machine and the computer. The computer controls the activating and deactivating of the coin redemption machine; and the computer and coin redemption machine communicate through commands from the computer, followed by responses from the coin redemption machine.

摘要: Disclosed is a permanent recloser simulator feature for use in a single-pole trip capable recloser control. The permanent recloser simulator feature includes a first logic circuit capable of enabling and disabling operation of the permanent recloser simulator feature in response to receipt of a binary logic signal, and a second logic circuit coupled to the first logic circuit where the second logic circuit is configured to provide an indication of a status of a first pole to a logic engine of the single-pole trip capable recloser control. The permanent recloser simulator feature may further include a third logic circuit associated with a second pole, and a fourth logic circuit associated with a third pole where both are coupled to the first logic circuit. Disabling means of the first logic circuit allow the first, second, third and fourth logic circuit to permanently reside in logic of the recloser control.
