摘要: Provided are, inter alia, systems, methods and techniques for controlling workflow by identifying an individual job that is part of an overall deliverables package that covers multiple jobs. An aggregate utility function is obtained, specifying utility based on an aggregate metric across the overall deliverables package, and a current operating point is determined on the aggregate utility function. An effective utility is calculated for the individual job based on the aggregate utility function and the current operating point, and the execution of work is controlled based on the effective utility for the individual job.

摘要: Methods and apparatus for supporting instance ordering selection policies (ISOPs) for network-accessible resources are disclosed. A system includes a plurality of resource instances of a provider network, and a resource manager. The resource manager assigns an ISOP to be used to respond to instance acquisition requests of a specified type from a particular client. In response to a request of the specified type from the client, the resource manager determines, based at least in part on the ISOP, an order in which a plurality of resource groups (such as a set of instances reservations of the client, or an instance marketplace accessible to multiple clients) is to be examined to obtain an instance for the client. Starting with a first resource group, the resource manager examines each resource group until an instance matching instance selection criteria specified in the request is found.

摘要: User content access events pertaining to a content item, such as an eBook, audio, video file, and so on, are collected and analyzed to determine progress data, including completion information about when the content item, or a portion thereof, has been completed. Once determined, further information or recommendations that have some relation to the completed content item may be presented to the user.
