摘要: A medical grasping device (10) for vascular use, having an outer sheath (12), an elongate control member (50) extending within an outer sheath (12) to a distal tip section (54), and a proximal control assembly (22) including an actuation section (24) joined to the elongate control member (50). Adjacent to the distal tip section (54) is a grasping portion (70,70′) that is extendable from the outer sheath (12) to create loops (74,74′) for grasping a target object (T) for repositioning within the vascular system, or for removal from the patient, with loops being retractable into the outer sheath to hold the target object against the device (10) during movement of the device. Elongate control member (50) is preferably a cannula or tube having a lumen (58) extending completely therethrough for placement over a guide wire (28) already in the patient.

摘要: A medical grasping device (10) for vascular use, having an outer sheath (12), an elongate control member (50) extending within an outer sheath (12) to a distal tip section (54), and a proximal control assembly (22) including an actuation section (24) joined to the elongate control member (50). 摘要: A coupling wire guide for intracorporeal procedures that may be coupled to a previously introduced wire guide, thereby permitting introduction of the coupling wire guide separately and identically in a manner that is both reliable as well as traceable. One embodiment of the wire guide includes a main body having a distal end and a tip portion connected to the distal end of the main body. The tip portion defines an axial passageway having a distal opening and a proximal opening, the passageway being sized to receive a second wire guide therein. The tip portion includes a linking member connected to the distal end of the main body to provide a secure connection between the distal end of the main body and the tip portion.

摘要: An intraluminal stent delivery and deployment system and a method of delivering and deploying an intraluminal stent are described. The stent delivery and deployment system includes a catheter, an expandable stent disposed about a portion of the catheter, and at least one anchoring device attached to the catheter. The anchoring device has a proximal portion disposed distal of a midpoint of the stent. The anchoring device is deployed and engages a body vessel before the stent is expanded to a fully expanded configuration, thereby anchoring at least the catheter to the body vessel during the expansion of the stent.

摘要: There is disclosed a device for removing chronic total occlusions (CTO) from blood vessels or other body lumens. In one embodiment the device has a loop at a distal end connected by a shaft to a proximal end. The shaft is provided inside a catheter that has an opening at the distal end and a handle at the proximal end. By manipulating the position of the loop relative to the opening, the effective stiffness of the loop may be changed. This allows a physician to vary the loop stiffness so as to be appropriate with regard to the toughness of a CTO (some CTOs have a relatively tough exterior but a relatively soft interior). The loop may have a single turn or may comprise two or more turns.

摘要: An apparatus and method for inserting an article into a body opening. A radially expandable introducer sheath is delivered in a non-expanded condition into a body opening. A release mechanism releases the introducer sheath from the non-expanded condition into a condition that permits radial expansion of the introducer sheath upon introduction of a medical device through the sheath into the body opening. An optional handle having a circumferential opening may be provided for withdrawing the sheath from the body opening, while leaving the medical device in place.
