摘要: A conditional purchase offer (CPO) buyer agency system is disclosed for processing variable conditional purchase offers (CPOs) containing at least one variable condition. If a posted CPO is not accepted by at least one seller for a predefined period of time, or has been rejected by all potential sellers, the terms of the posted CPO may be modified by the CPO buyer agency system, within the tolerances specified by the buyer in the variable CPO, to facilitate acceptance. A buyer can submit a variable CPO having two sets of conditions, namely, a first set and a second set of conditions, as well as the corresponding buyer-defined offer price for each condition set. In addition, the buyer preferably provides a set of rules to control the gradual posting of the condition sets between the first and second condition sets, as well as the appropriate adjustments to the corresponding offer price. A buyer can also submit a variable CPO having several predefined CPO sets, each with defined condition sets and corresponding offer prices, as well as a priority for their posting. If the highest priority CPO is not accepted, the next CPO in the prioritized list can be posted until a CPO is bound, all possibilities have been exhausted or the variable CPO has expired. A CPO rule application process monitors and modifies variable CPOs having a first set and a second set of conditions, and a CPO evaluation process monitors and modifies variables CPOs having predefined CPO condition sets.

摘要: A system for managing conditional purchase offers is disclosed where an individual searching for a ticket to a particular event may provide a guaranteed purchase offer to a plurality of potential sellers. Various methods and systems for completing such a transaction are also disclosed. An exemplary method includes: making available a guaranteed purchase offer to a plurality of potential sellers; potential sellers examining offers corresponding to a ticket they possess; and a potential seller providing an acceptance to the guaranteed purchase offer. The disclosure describes a method of payment whereby both the buyer and seller must provide credit card pre-authorization to ensure payment and delivery of the ticket. Also, one embodiment discloses a delivery of the ticket that includes the participation of the venue hosting the event. In this embodiment, the traditional practice of exchanging tickets for cash is replaced with an electronic serial number system. According to this system, the venue may be notified to cancel the serial number originally assigned to the ticket held by the seller, and re-assign a new serial number directly to the buyer. The buyer may then exchange this number for a ticket at the venue box office.

摘要: A method and apparatus for controlling credit card use. As described in one aspect of the disclosure, a method is disclosed for facilitating communication between a first person (e.g., an account holder) and a second person (e.g., a user) so that the first person may authorize a transaction between the second person and a third party (e.g., a merchant). The method comprises the steps of linking the first and second persons to a financial account that is used for the transaction, receiving data identifying the financial account and the third party from the third party, inquiring whether the first person desires to communicate with the second person based on the data identifying the financial account, and enabling communication between the first and second persons based on a response to the inquiry from the first person and the data identifying the third party. In this way, the first person can control the authorization or denial of a transaction executed by a user based on circumstances surrounding the transaction.

摘要: In one embodiment, a billing server receives charge data from a card authorization terminal. The charge data indicates a transaction amount, such as a purchase price, and a first financial account, such as a credit card account. The billing server determines a second financial account that corresponds to the first financial account. For example, the second financial account may be the financial account of an insurance company or other reimbursing party. The billing server also determines a reimbursement amount that corresponds to the first financial account. The second financial account is charged the reimbursement amount. Thus, a portion or all of the transaction amount is paid by a reimbursing party. The second financial account is only charged if a reimbursement rule is satisfied. For example, only purchases made at certain types of merchants may be reimbursed. In addition, the billing server may first request approval before charging the second financial account.
