Abstract:
Tunable selective devices utilizing forward magnetostatic bulk waves. A filter is able to act as an oscillator loop or as a passive transmission system in which two resonant cavities including gratings are so arranged that via a selective reflector grating they may exchange magnetostatic bulk waves energized and intercepted by transducers of the microstrip type. The invention relates in particular to the filtering of very high frequency electric signals, and to the production of tunable oscillators and to measuring magnetic fields.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a magnetostatic-wave device whose ferrimagnetic layer supports an exchange structure formed by an array of conducting strips having their ends connected by conducting bridges. The invention applies particularly to the construction of magnetostatic-wave devices using couplers, hybrid junctions, reflecting mirrors, extraction structures and resonators.
Abstract:
Thermomagnetic recording head for use in magnetic tape recording, comprising a layer of a ferromagnetic material set in the vicinity of a magnetic recording medium. A heating means is used to heat the layer of ferromagnetic material locally to a temperature that reaches the Curie point of the ferromagnetic material. Each heated zone is thus demagnetized and constitutes a recording gap for the recording medium.
Abstract:
The vectorial force sensor with elastic surface waves according to the invention comprises a mechanical part, for example a lamella, subjected to a stress (.sigma.). One face of the lamella incorporates transducers maintaining an elastic surface wave. The system according to the invention possesses three magnetic means inducing in the lamella three orthogonal magnetic fields, one of which is parallel to the direction of polarization of the elastic surface wave. Means are provided to make it possible to measure the influence of each magnetic field on the speed of propagation of the elastic surface wave. Such a system can be used particularly in accelerometers.
Abstract:
A magnetic transducer is disclosed which utilizes the magnetostrictive effect for creating an easy axis of magnetization in the longitudinal axis of a magnetic wire having a high cobalt content by bending the wire, which is then placed in a non-magnetic hollow tube. This tube is placed in the axis of a detection coil. The application of a magnetic field, alternately in one direction and the other in the longitudinal axis of the assembly creates a flux variation due to the magnetization change in the easy axis. The pulses detected have a high amplitude and a low rise time.
Abstract:
A unidirectional magnetometer comprising at least two magnetostatic wave oscillators with resonators or delay lines, made in two portions in a magnetic material layer respectively subject to the field to be measured and to given magnetic fields of the same direction, but of opposite sense and adjacent intensities.
Abstract:
An oscillator including two magnetostatic wave delay lines of different lengths formed on the surface of a magnetic material, one of whose ends is common and made by a first microstrip coupler, each of the other ends being made of a second and a third microstrip couplers respectively. The two lines are looped by means of a single amplifier. By selecting the two lengths, it is possible to obtain the desired interval between modes in such a way that there is a single oscillation mode comprised in the pass-band of the strips, in a pre-determined tuning band. This oscillator operates in the microwave range.
