    摘要: A thermoelectric module is provided that includes a first thermally conductive plate with a first array of thermoelectric elements coupled to it. The first array of thermoelectric elements includes a first plurality of thermoelectric elements. The thermoelectric module also includes a second thermally conductive plate coupled to the first array of thermoelectric elements, and a second array of thermoelectric elements coupled to the second plate. The second array of thermoelectric elements includes a second plurality of thermoelectric elements. A third thermally conductive plate is coupled to the second array of thermoelectric elements. The thermoelectric module also includes a portion of each thermoelectric element of the first and second pluralities of thermoelectric elements being coplanar with at least a portion of every other thermoelectric element of the first and second pluralities of thermoelectric elements.

    摘要: Porous biocompatible structures suitable for use as medical implants and methods for fabricating such structures are disclosed. The disclosed structures may be fabricated using rapid manufacturing techniques. The disclosed porous structures has a plurality of struts and nodes where no more than two struts intersect one another to form a node. Further, the nodes can be straight, curved, portions that are curved and/or straight. The struts and nodes can form cells which can be fused or sintered to at least one other cell to form a continuous reticulated structure for improved strength while providing the porosity needed for tissue and cell in-growth.

    摘要: A multilayer liner for a high-pressure gas cylinder is provided. The liner has an impact-modified polyamide (PA) layer in contact with the high-pressure gas. The impact-modified PA layer reduces travel of the high-pressure gas from the inside of the liner to the outside of the liner. Use of a gas barrier layer such as an EVOH layer in combination with the impact-modified PA layer results in improved permeation resistance not heretofore demonstrated in a Type 4 cylinder. Combination of the EVOH layer and the impact-modified PA layer results in an interior surface which is compatible with gas environment in the cylinder, ductility at high pressures, a range of temperatures, and can survive cryogenic conditions.
