摘要: A pressure vessel includes front and rear end plates and a plurality of open-ended vessel structures constructed of fibre-reinforced polymer matrix composite material positioned adjacent to one another so that their longitudinal axes are parallel to a longitudinal direction extending between the front and rear end plates. The vessel also includes an outer reinforcement comprising polymer matrix composite material with continuous fibres extending longitudinally around the pressure vessel to secure the front and rear end plates to the vessel structures. At least one of the vessel structures has a partially curved cross section in a plane perpendicular to its longitudinal axis, such that one or more crevices are formed between the vessel structures, running longitudinally between the front and rear end plates and the front and rear end plates are shaped to allow the outer reinforcement to at least partially fill the one or more crevices between the vessel structures.

摘要: Method for the production of a high-resistance tank has an initial stage in which a closed metal vessel is formed, followed by a second stage in which the walls of the vessel are subjected to a mechanical pre-tensioning treatment in both the axial and radial directions, up to a predetermined value. This mechanical treatment has a stage in which the tank is enclosed inside a mould of suitably larger dimensions. A liquid is then introduced in the tank and pressurized until the tank walls are dilated and stretched to a point where they encounter the mould inner surface. Subsequently, the outside of the tank is coated with one or more layers of composite material, so as to complete the construction of the tank, upon which a final auto-frettage treatment is carried out. The type of steel to be used is AISI 304, preferably in its more weldable AISI 304L version.

摘要: A pressure vessel for containing a pressurized fluid is disclosed. An outer shell may define a cavity where the fluid is stored. An inner matrix substantially fills the cavity and undertakes a majority of the forces exerted by the stored fluid. The inner matrix is a series of interconnected nodes with a series of voids located therebetween. The voids contact one another so that fluid may flow therebetween, thus filling the cavity. The interconnected nodes are filleted at the points of contact to reduce stress concentrations. An inlet/outlet device may selectively permit the introduction and removal of the fluid from the cavity.

摘要: A gas system includes a container, a fitting, a gas tube, adsorbent, and a filter. The container stores gas under pressure. The fitting covers an opening of the container and maintains a seal with the opening of the container. The gas tube is inserted through a bore in the fitting such that a length of a portion of the gas tube inside of the container is at least one half of a length of the container. The portion of the gas tube in the container includes holes. The adsorbent is in a particulate form and adsorbs gas in the container. The filter covers the holes in the portion of the gas tube in the container. The filter permits passage of gas into and out of the gas tube and prevents passage of the adsorbent into the gas tube.
