Abstract:
A printer has a print engine with an ink supply chamber connected to the print engine. The supply chamber has an exit aperture to which a suction device is connected. A gas permeable film associated with the aperture separates the chamber from the suction device. The suction device may be a resilient spring member that occasionally is composed during winter carriage reciprocation to maintain suction, or may be a vacuum pump. A porous may support the film.
Abstract:
A method and system for collaborative development environments allows members of a team which are physically separated to effectively work together. A Collaborative Development Environment (CDE) as a virtual space wherein all the stakeholders of a project—even if distributed by time or distance—may negotiate, brainstorm, discuss, share knowledge, and generally labor together to carry out some task, most often to create an executable deliverable and its supporting artifacts. The CDE allows people to interact with each other without shifting applications or transitioning to a different user interface, and the CDE encourages solving problems as they arise rather than waiting until the problem grows. The CDE may encompass a large variety of resources that range from role players and information items to tasks and development artifacts, but only those resources are relevant to a user's task at hand are presented.
Abstract:
The invention provides a system adapted to enable contextual collaboration within a computer network. In invention, a collaboration manager supports manipulation of collaboration spaces. The collaboration spaces contain one or more collaboration elements that have potentially different collaboration modalities. The context manager maintains resources and resource interrelationships within contexts. The resources can include collaboration elements, processes, tasks, business objects, users, and/or roles. A view generator selects a set of the resources to be displayed to a user of the computer network. The invention also includes an interface adapted to allow applications to specify commands to manipulate collaboration spaces, commands to maintain resources and resource interrelationships within contexts, and queries for context-sensitive views.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for call quality troubleshooting and mitigation may include polling network communication path elements to determine network performance data, receiving a call quality alert from at least one communication unit, the call quality alert indicating degraded call quality of a call session, and analyzing the network performance data from the network communication path elements and the at least one communication unit to determine a cause of the alert and at least one action to mitigate the cause of the alert. The apparatus for call quality troubleshooting and mitigation may include a memory for storing data from network communication path elements and data from at least one communication unit, and a processor operating to poll network communication path elements to determine network performance data, to store a call quality alert received from at least one communication unit in the memory, and to the network performance data from the network communication path elements and the at least one communication unit to determine a cause of the alert and at least one action to mitigate the cause of the alert. The method and apparatus may further include correlating the data from the network communication path elements with the data from the at least one communication unit and invoking a real-time network topology investigation module to determine the cause of the call quality alert.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a method for interfacing between a command-line-interface (CLI)-based application program(CLI-AP) residing in a client network device, and remote network devices. The method includes predefining at least one CLI-based program routine(CLI-PR) comprising at least one CLI-based command wherein the CLI-PR is defined externally to the CLI-AP, determining by CLI-AP a set of data to be obtained from the remote network device; selecting by CLI-AP a predefined CLI-PR from the predefined CLI-PRs, the selected predefined CLI-PR corresponding to the remote network device and determined set of data to be obtained; instructing the client network device by CLI-AP to execute the selected predefined CLI-PR, wherein executing selected predefined PR will cause the selected predefined CLI-PR to obtain the determined set of data from remote network device and to configure the obtained data in a predetermined format; and querying configured data by CLI-AP to retrieve the determined set of data.
Abstract:
Standardized support for management of contextual relationships, which includes specification of the context hierarchy, association of relationships with a particular context, and derivation of transitive dependencies, is provided with a Context Manager service. The Context Manager provides a programmatic interface for defining contexts and the relationships therein. The Context Manager saves the relationship facts in one or more context stores, which are organized by contexts. The Context Manager interfaces with the Ontology Manager that processes queries on relationships with respect to a given set of contexts. The Context Manager provides a high-level abstraction for relationship management in a context. Developers of business solutions can then focus on the core business logic, without worrying about the details of storing and inferencing relationships.
Abstract:
A method (300) and apparatus (200) are provided which automatically detects and locates network congestion and trouble in a network (102). Event notification(s) are generated (304) which alert the network to congestion or problems. Network flow information (312) and previously determined topology mapping information (302) is processed to identify the congested link (314) and an offending host (causing the problem) (318). Once identified, corrective action (or procedure) is automatically initiated and performed (322). Alternatively, an administrator may manually initiate the corrective action. Corrective action may include blocking traffic to the offending host, modifying network parameters, or otherwise restricting operation of the host within the network.
