摘要： Disclosed is an apparatus and method for constructing and broadcasting a multi-screen broadcasting program by using a transport stream in a digital broadcasting, and for decoding the constructed transport stream to restore image and voice signals. The method includes the steps of analyzing a program access table (PAT) of broadcasting data to determine whether there are at least two image packets, performing signal decoding when the input broadcasting data is a single screen program having one image packet, performing a multi-decoding when the input broadcasting data is a multi-screen program having at least two image packets.

摘要： Disclosed are a personal video recorder (PVR) using metadata and a recording control method thereof that facilitates the selective recording of user-preferred segments of a broadcast program in real time. The PVR includes a broadcast receiver for receiving the digital broadcast and dividing the digital broadcast program into video data, audio data, and metadata. The PVR also includes a DS analyzer for analyzing the metadata and outputting program-related information corresponding to the digital broadcast program, a user input unit for receiving recording preference information from a user for recording the digital broadcast program, a program information processor for filtering the program-related information using the user-supplied recording preference information, a synchronous buffer for temporarily storing the video data and the audio data, a recording unit for encoding and storing the video data and the audio data temporarily stored in the synchronous buffer, and a control unit for comparing the filtered program information with the recording preference information and controlling the synchronous buffer and the recording unit in accordance with the results of a comparison.

摘要： In an MPEG-2 decoding system, a transport decoder decodes a transport packet corresponding to a Program Identification (PID) from an input transport stream, and retrieves a Program Association Table/Program Map Table PAT/PMT) from the stream when it is requested to retrieve Program Specific lnformation (PSI). A pre-decoder checks PSI stored in a PSI memory in response to a request to change to a desired channnel, reads PIDs of transport packets for a Packetized Elementary Stream (PES) of a program corresponding to the desired channel from the PSI memory to provide it to the transport decoder, receives the PAT/PMT and updates the contents of the memory using the PAT/PMT. After decoding, PSI previously extracted therefrom is stored in the memory. PIDs of transport packets for the PES of desired program are obtained referring to the stored PSI, and transport packets having the PIDs are retrieved and decoded.

摘要： In an MPEG-2 decoding system, a transport decoder decodes a transport packet corresponding to a PID from an input transport stream, and retrieves a PAT/PMT from the stream when it is requested to retrieve PSI. A pre-decoder checks PSI stored in a PSI memory if a request to change to a desired channel is made, reads PIDs of transport packets for a PES of a program corresponding to the desired channel from the PSI memory to provide it to the transport decoder, receives the PAT/PMT from therefrom at a predetermined time, and updates the contents of the memory using the PAT/PMT. When a transport stream is decoded, PSI is previously extracted therefrom and stored in the memory. Upon the channel change request, PIDs of transport packets for the PES of the desired program are obtained referring to the stored PSI, and transport packets having the PIDs are retrieved and decoded.

The ONU device is capable of channel switching in a broadcasting-telecommunications convergence system where digital broadcasting signals of channels are switched according to subscribers, converged with communication signals destined for the subscribers, and transmitted to the subscribers. In the ONU device, a channel information extractor extracts channel switching information about digital broadcasting contents included in the digital broadcasting signals, a channel switching information database stores the extracted channel switching information and provides the channel switching information according to channel selection information from a subscriber received from a zapping processor, and the zapping processor outputs a control signal for channel switching according to the channel switching information.
