Abstract: Live event production and distribution networks, systems, apparatuses and methods related thereto are described herein. The described innovations may be used not only to present live events to audiences, but to do so in a way that provides audience energy and feedback to the performer(s) (e.g., a band) in a manner akin to that which they receive during a traditional live performance, thereby energizing and motivating the performers to give the best live performance they can, even in the absence of a co-located live audience. Some or all of the audience members may be represented by a visual surrogate displayed on an audience feedback screen set up to be viewable by the performers. The screen may be sized to fill a curtain window of stage on which the performers are performing, and the performers may optionally interact with one or more people in the audience during the live performance.

Abstract: Some examples include a computing device that receives media content to distribute to a plurality of electronic devices. The computing device may receive an indication of first data to relate to the media content for distribution to the plurality of electronic devices. A portion of the multimedia content may be decoded to enable a determination that the media content already has second data embedded in the media content. A psychoacoustic mask may be extracted from the media content and subtracted from the received media content to remove the embedded second data. The first data may be associated with the media content by either embedding third data in the media content, or by embedding the first data in the media content.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided herein for determining whether to adjust volumes of individual audio components in a media asset based on a type of segment of the media asset that is playing back. A media guidance application may determine that a user is playing back a segment of a media asset. The media guidance application may determine a type corresponding to the segment. The media guidance application may parse a plurality of audio components of the media asset that are playing back during the segment. The media guidance application may determine, for each audio component, whether to adjust the volume playing back during the segment based on the type. For each audio component of the plurality of audio components, in response to determining to adjust the volume, the media guidance application may adjust the volume of the audio component playing back during the segment.

Abstract: Methods, apparatus and systems related to packaging a multimedia content for distribution are described. In one example aspect, a method includes receiving media files comprising video or audio data captured at a production stage and determining a hierarchical structure of the multimedia content based on production stage information of the multimedia content. The hierarchical structure indicates that the multimedia content comprises multiple scenes, each of which comprises multiple shots produced with corresponding devices and cast. The method also includes identifying characteristics associated with the individual scenes based on the production stage information, generating multiple copies of the multimedia content at different compression levels, and dividing each of the multiple copies of the multimedia content into segments based on the hierarchical structure. The compression levels and a length of a segment are adaptively adjusted based on the characteristics associated with the individual scenes.

Abstract: A method for low-latency streaming of audio and video via a mobile computing device to facilitate a high-quality, real-time interactive streaming experience. The method includes receiving an application audio stream generated by execution of an application program, an application video stream generated by execution of the application program, a microphone audio stream, and a camera video stream. The application audio stream and the microphone audio stream are mixed to produce a mixed audio stream. The application video stream and the camera video stream are composited to produce a composited video stream. The mixed audio stream is encoded to produce an encoded audio stream, and the composited video stream is encoded to produce an encoded video stream. The encoded audio and video streams are packaged into one or more streaming packets, and output, to a remote computing device.

Abstract: A method, apparatus, and system to provide the ability for a user to make audio and/or audio-video phone calls simultaneously while watching (co-viewing) provider video content in remote locations. A control system is provided to set up call, direct provider video content, and provide for the phone calls and video content to be delivered and then synchronized. The phone calls may be routed by the control system to PSTN destinations or Internet based destinations and calls made or received may be bridged to other Internet based sources. The provider video content may be provided directly from its source or routed through NAT traversal or through the control system.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a networked amplifier in an audio video distribution system that converts a digital audio signal to and from an analog audio signal used in a video and audio system that uses a TCP/IP LAN (local area network) using TCP/IP as the communication protocol. The networked amplifier includes a network controller where the controller includes an embedded controller with a processor, memory, and storage functioning as a web server. Further included is a digital signal processor (DSP) that includes a pre-amplifier, amplifier, and an electronic crossover for frequency division. Also included are analog sensors that used for receiving and or gathering control information that enables internal auto adjustment. And further included is an analog driver circuitry.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a legacy converter for an audio distribution system that uses a local area network where the legacy converter converts a digital audio signal to and from an analog audio signal and provides an external bridge connection between the audio system and one or more legacy sources and one or more legacy control networks. The legacy converter includes a network controller where the network controller further includes an embedded controller with memory and which is programmed to function as a web server. In addition, the legacy converter includes a network interface, an audio format converter that includes one or more audio encoders to provide multiple conversions of different legacy audio inputs simultaneously, an analog to digital converter, a legacy controller, a legacy audio network interface that bridges the legacy sources, and, a legacy control network interface.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a content-adaptive digital media content adjustment system, method and architecture. Playback rate of a media content item comprising audio and video content can be increased by removing a portion of the content item's audio content and a corresponding portion of the content item's video content. An increased playback rate of a multimedia content item is accomplished by decreasing the length of the multimedia content item by removing portions of the multimedia content item's audio and video content.

Abstract: To make it possible to apply optimal decoding processing to an encoded stream including a plurality of pieces of encoded data having degree-of-priority information. An encoded stream including a plurality of pieces of encoded data having degree-of-priority information is acquired. Whether or not a decoding ability of a reception side is equal to or greater than a decoding ability of the own side is determined on the basis of decoding ability information of the reception side indicating to what number of degree of priority decoding can be performed. In a case where the decoding ability of the reception side is equal to or greater than the decoding ability of the own side, an encoded stream is transmitted. On the contrary, in a case where the decoding ability of the reception side is less than the decoding ability of the own side, a decoded stream including decoded data generated by subjecting the encoded stream to decoding processing is transmitted.
