The apparatus has the following elements: (a) a pressure chamber for containing the liquid; (b) an ejection opening communicating between an outside and an inside of the pressure chamber; (c) a working piston displaceable in the pressure chamber from a first position at a beginning of a working stroke to second position at an end of the working stroke, having (1) a first end defining a first volume within the pressure chamber when the working piston is at the first position and displacing a second volume, less than the first volume, when the working piston moves from the first position to the second position, and (2) having a second end distal from the first end; and (d) a drive for driving the working piston including (1) an impact member for elastically impacting the second end of the working piston to cause the working piston from the first to the second position and (2) means for accelerating the impact member to impact the working piston. The device can be constructed either as an endoscopic device for delivering liquids in minimally invasive surgical procedures, or as a needle-less inoculation device.

An ejection device 1 for the high-pressure ejection of a liquid or a liquid containing solid particles, comprising a pressure chamber 13 to accommodate the liquid therein, which opens into an ejection opening 11 and is delimited by a working piston 5. The working piston 5 is, upon application of an elastic impact on its end facing away from the pressure chamber 13, capable of transmitting a compression wave which may displace the pressure chamber-facing end of the working piston 5 by a predetermined displacement stroke into the pressure chamber 13 so that the volume thereof is reduced. The reduction in volume of the pressure chamber 13 is signicantly smaller than the volume of the pressure chamber 13. The ejection device 1 further comprises a drive member 24 capable of generating the elastic impact, and is designed such that the working piston 5 is progressively displaced into the pressure chamber 13 by the repeated application of elastic impacts, with the distance of each single displacement being defined by the predetermined displacement stroke. The device has a functional zone having an inlet zone connected at one end to the lithotripter, and an outlet zone connected to the suction device. There is a collection zone mounted on the functional zone and connected to the other end of the inlet zone. A filter element is disposed between the functional zone and the collection zone, so that body material processed by the lithotripter will be deposited in the collection zone, and the filter element will separate the body fluids collected by the lithotripter from the body material.
