The latching device includes at least a bolt which is carried on the latching device and is operatively associated with the panel to prevent disengagement of the panel. The latching device includes at least one pressure responsive device operatively coupled to the bolt to retain the bolt in a desired position and release the bolt when a predetermined pressure differential occurs relative to two, generally opposite, sides of the panel or when a pressure decrease occurs on one side of the panel.

    摘要: A latch system including a first portion and a second portion which are attached to corresponding pieces. The first portion is engageable with the second portion. A drive device is coupled to at least one of the first portion and the second portion for controllable operation of the device to engage and disengage the first portion and second portion. A controller is provided and coupled to the drive device for controllably operating the drive device to engage and disengage the latch. The first and second portion may be provided in the form of a hook and keeper configuration with one of the hook portion and keeper portion being driven by the drive device. A sensor may be provided on the latch assembly coupled to the controller for detecting at least one condition such as the latch being engaged or the latch being disengaged. Also disclosed is a method of latching using a first portion, second portion, drive device and controller for controllably latching and unlatching a latch assembly.

    摘要: A method and apparatus for maintaining a panel in a closed position and releasing a panel upon application of changes resulting from a pressure change in an area adjoining the panel. The apparatus includes a latch mechanism attached to a structure having a bolt for engaging corresponding panel. The latch mechanism may be retained on the corresponding panel with the bolt engaging the structure. A pressure responsive device is provided to detect a change in pressure on one side of the panel and facilitating release of the bolt in response to a pressure change of a predetermined range or force. The latch mechanism and pressure responsive device vent to or communicate with only one side of the panel. A reservoir on one side of the panel communicates with a pressure responsive chamber of the pressure responsive device. The reservoir is generally on the same side of the panel to provide a pressure volume which is generally isolated from ambient pressure, such as during a decompression event. The method includes a method of maintaining a latch mechanism in a closed position subject to a pressure change, including sensing the pressure change on only one side of the panel.

    摘要: A fastener includes a body having deformable first end, a second end, and a passage extending through the body between the first and second ends. The fastener further includes a corebolt having first and second ends and a region of reduced diameter disposed between the first and second ends and a sleeve having first and second ends, the second end having a bulbing portion. The corebolt is disposed within the sleeve and the body with the first end of the corebolt in engagement with the first end of the sleeve and the first end of the body disposed adjacent the second end of the sleeve. The bulbing portion is adapted to form an enlarged blind head when the corebolt is rotated in relation to the sleeve. The first end of the body is adapted to deform radially inwardly into the region of reduced diameter.

    摘要: A quick release fastener system which is used as an axle system for efficient and reliable attachment, disengagement and reattachment of a component secured by the fastener system. The axle system of the invention includes a pair of axle assemblies, each having an elongated fastener member having a shank, one end of which having a drive structure, an opposite end of which having a threaded portion. A nut member or expander is engageable with the threaded portion of the corresponding fastener and is adapted for engagement in a bore of a wheel assembly. Nut spreading structures are provided on each nut and each fastener which cause the nut to spread or enlarge when the fastener is engaged therewith and rotated therein. The nut is initially retained on the threaded portion of the fastener with the nut spreading structures disengaged. A spline, key, or equivalent structure is formed in the bore and at least one slot or groove is provided on the nut, which is sized and dimensioned for receiving the spline therein. The slot allows the nut to spread or expand, with the spline engaging the slot preventing the nut from rotating in the bore. Nominal rotation of the fastener relative to the nut, approximately a 90.degree. or a quarter turn, results in engaging the nut spreading structures on the fastener and nut to expand or spread the nut and thereby causing the exterior of the nut to forcibly contact and engage the inside surfaces of the bore.

    摘要: A fastener structure for particular use in clamping a panel assembly includes a bolt or pin member having a generally elongate shank for extension through a panel, and a locking-recess in the shank for reception of a locking formation. The pin shank is insertable through a sleeve having a bore which terminates at an anvil portion surrounding the inserted pin shank. A lock collar is insertable into the sleeve bore radially between the shank locking-recess and the sleeve into abutment against the anvil portion of the sleeve. Compression of the locking collar against the abutting anvil portion of the sleeve produces cold flow deformation of a portion of the collar into the locking-recess of the shank to form a locked joint so that the collar then blocks any subsequent relative movement between the pin shank and sleeve to secure the fastener structure.

    摘要: A blind fastener comprises a fastener body, a stem and a shaped shear ring wire. The shear ring in one embodiment is disposed in an annular groove disposed intermediate the ends of a neck of the stem. When the fastener is installed, a bulbing portion of the shear ring upsets the tail end of the fastener and then shears at a predetermined load. An anchor portion of the shear ring travels through the fastener body, with the stem neck radially expanding the fastener to fill the hole within the workpieces being secured together. A lock ring groove is formed in the stem midsection of smaller diameter at the intersections of the stem neck and midsection. In another embodiment, the shear ring is positioned at the intersection so that the shear ring anchor portion engages the rear of a lock ring positioned in said lock ring groove.
