摘要: The present invention is a coin sorter apparatus for sorting a group of mixed coins by denomination and immediately terminating the sorting process in response to a predetermined operating condition, such as the filling of a coin receptacle with a predetermined number of coins. Sorting is provided by a stationary sorting head and a rotatable disc positioned sufficiently proximate to one another so that when the group of mixed coins are dropped into the center opening of the stationary sorting head, they are rotated by the rotating disc and guided by the sorting head on a outward spiral sorting path to exit channels along the periphery of the stationary sorting head. Each of the exit channels acts as an exit chute for a particular coin denomination by releasing pressure on that particular coin and freeing the coin to move outwardly along the exit channel and exit into a coin receptacle. At the moment of the predetermined operating condition, a braking mechanism immediately stops the rotation of the rotatable disc, and the coins within an exit channel exit through the exit channel due to the inertia of the coins.

摘要: A coin sorter for sorting coins in terms of their diameter comprising a rotatably mounted coin-carrying disc having a resilient top surface onto which coins may be fed; a drive motor for rotating the disc; a guide plate having a central opening and a configured lower surface positioned over and closely adjacent to the disc, and wherein the configured surface includes an inner recess within which coins are free to move radially, and the inner recess extends outwardly from the central opening, and guide plate forming a referencing region for receiving the coins from the inner recess and pressing them against the resilient top surface of the coin-carrying disc while engaging the radially outer edges of the coins of all denominations and moving the coins radially inwardly as the coins are advanced circumferentially so that the radially outer edges of the coins of all denominations are positioned at a common radial location, whereby the radially inner edges of the coins are positioned at different radial locations determined by the diameters of the respective coins, and sorting recesses disposed around the outer periphery of the guide plate for sorting coins of different denominations according to the different radial locations of the radially inner edges of the coins of different denominations, the sorting recesses ejecting coins of a common denomination at a common circumferential location on the periphery of the guide plate.

摘要: A document processing system includes an input receptacle for receiving documents. A transport mechanism receives the documents from the input receptacle and transports the documents past an image scanner and a discrimination unit. An output receptacle receives the documents from the transport mechanism after being transported past the full image scanner and the discrimination unit. The image scanner operates to obtain images of the documents and further operates to obtain images of selected portions of the documents, and further can obtain information contained in the selected portions. The discrimination unit operates to determine document authenticity. A system controller directs the flow of documents over the transport mechanism.
