摘要: A Chart of accounts (COA) is maintained as a logical set of constraints, criteria, and relationships and does not persist any of the valid combinations until a first time a particular combination is used. When any business logic or properties need to be set or referenced on an individual combination, that combination is physically persisted “just in time” and then becomes a physical combination that may be used going forward. A hash value is associated with each combination such that lookups are simplified.

摘要: An article of footwear or shoe assembly, which is designed to allow for adjustment of stiffness in its sole unit, is disclosed. The article of footwear is preferably constructed to enhance stability, support and comfort of a wearer on varied terrain. Among other elements, the shoe assembly preferably includes an adjustable shank disposed within the shoe to allow for adjustment in the stiffness of the sole unit. In certain embodiments, the adjustable shank further includes a plurality of segments adapted to be manipulated in order to vary the stiffness.

摘要: An abstraction for rich data access for consumers of a service in a service oriented system. The abstraction is created by the author of a service which owns the data, and includes a number of service-public properties and associations. Further, the abstraction can contain metadata and logic that provides for a rich, interactive experience for the consumer interacting with the data encapsulated by the entity agent. These can include verifying that the data conforms to the contract published by the owning service, validating and defaulting properties, and validating associated data. Also the abstraction can contains metadata and logic for transmitting of the data back to the owning service and optionally saving to the local data store of the consumer.

摘要: The present invention provides a method for registering a service with an aggregation service, and storing data within the aggregate service. The process of registration is performed by a service explicitly notifying or being discovered by the aggregation service. In one embodiment there are four steps to the registration process. The first step is determining existence of a service and there are two ways this can happen, discovery and explicit notification. The second step of the process is metadata retrieval. Once the existence of the service is determined, the aggregation service attempts to retrieve relevant metadata about the service. The third step is setting up how the aggregation service is populated. If it is to be populated via a push synchronization, entity create, update, and delete event subscriptions are created with the service so it will push its data to the aggregation service. If pull synchronization is used, a scheduled retrieval process is configured on the aggregation service so the service can pull data at scheduled intervals. The fourth step in the process is the initial population of the aggregation data store.

摘要: The invention provides oligonucleotide probes that can be used to hybridize to a representation of nucleic acid sequences. Compositions containing the probes such as microarrays are also provided. The invention also provides methods of using these probes and compositions in therapeutic, diagnostic, and research applications. Systems and methods for using a word counting algorithm that can quickly and accurately count the number of times a particular string of characters (i.e., nucleotides) appears in a nucleotide sequence (e.g., a genome) are provided. This algorithm can be used to identify the oligonucleotide probes of the invention. The algorithm uses a transform of a genome and an auxiliary data structure to count the number of times a particular word occurs in the genome.

摘要: A suspension heel is provided for use with footwear, such as high heeled shoes, to provide cushioning to the wearer. The suspension heel includes a heel shaft connected to the shoe sole and a compliant heel plug attached to the heel shaft. The shaft includes a cavity or other receptacle for receiving the compliant heel plug. The suspension heel provides cushioning as well as stability for the wearer of the footwear, while maintaining aesthetic style. A relief detail formed by the compliant heel plug and the shaft provides compliance by compressing when a force is applied. For instance, as a person walks in the shoe, ground contact applies a force to the suspension heel. The relief detail deforms or compresses in response to the force, attenuating it and providing cushioning to the wearer.
