    摘要: A substantially calorie-free, non-carbohydrate, non-cariogenic, non-adhesive chewing gum is provided which does not adhere to dentures and includes gum base, substantially calorie-free sweetener, flavor, water, thickener, filler, softener and a slip agent for imparting non-adhesive properties to the gum, the slip agent being alpha-cellulose, texturized vegetable protein, fish protein concentrate, citrus peel, citrus pulp, fruit pulp or mixtures thereof. A method for imparting non-adhesive properties to chewing gum is also provided. The resulting chewing gum has significantly higher cud volume than heretofore known chewing gum of equivalent weight.

    摘要: A non-adhesive chewing gum is provided which does not adhere to dentures and includes gum base, sweetener, flavor and a slip agent for imparting non-adhesive properties to the gum, the slip agent being alpha-cellulose, texturized vegetable protein, bran, fish protein concentrate, citrus peel, citrus pulp, fruit pulp or mixtures thereof. A method for imparting non-adhesive properties to chewing gum is also provided. The resulting chewing gum has significantly higher cud volume than previously known chewing gums of equivalent weight.

    摘要: A chewing gum is provided which has long-lasting sweetness and good sweat resistance and includes a water-soluble phase formed of aqueous softener, such as sorbitol syrup, and a first sweetener, such as sorbitol or sugar, in particulate form dispersed throughout the aqueous softener, and a relatively water-insoluble phase formed of a plurality of separate and distinct masses suspended in and dispersed throughout the water-soluble phase, each of said masses formed of particles of gum base and particles of a second sweetener, such as mannitol and/or sorbitol or sugar, enveloped by particles of gum base. The first sweetener and aqueous softener provide the initial impact of sweetness while the gum base provides an envelope or protective vehicle for the second sweetener to control and slow down release of the second sweetener, thereby providing extended sweetness after the initial sweetness impact has subsided.A method for preparing the above chewing gum is also provided.

    摘要: A method for treating teeth to reduce caries is provided wherein the teeth are contacted with an anti-caries compound comprising 3,4-dihydro-6-methyl-1,2,3-oxathiazine-4-one-2,2-dioxide or the sodium, ammonium, potassium or calcium salt thereof, optionally in the presence of a sugar, for example, as contained in a chewing gum composition or toothpaste or powder composition, the anti-caries compound being present in an amount sufficient to inhibit growth of Streptococcus mutans in the oral cavity or on the teeth.
